So because its a person of colour, it must be racist?

Honestly why don't the mods get a backbone and ban idiots like this.

Oh dear. Im sure we can all think of people of all damn colours we've not liked over the years i know i can. Nothing to do with colour.

Just to add Makosi was damn popular until the pregnant thing.

So she has to be butch in order for you to believe her?

She doesn't have a shaved head or dungarees so must be straight? LOL

If only the OP could have been more subtle about the racism accusations.

You should go read the despicable Adjoa thread , and still say racism doesn't play a part in some people's attitude.

What do you mean by lipstick lesbian? I always took it to mean a lesbian who wore makeup and was feminine as opposed to the 'butch type'.

So would I. Those defending her coarseness must hang out in some very low dives if they think her behaviour is acceptable.

I don't like her. Her colour has nothing to do with it.

What does "strong black woman" actually mean?”

And "independent" from what or whom?

I'm the one that that started the thread about her being sleazy. Nothing to do with her being a black Lesbian woman. Everything to do with her behaving in a sleazy manner in much the same way as Sezer, for one, before her.

No, they were, to say the least, divisive characters and both were initially very popular before revealing themselves to be delusional, belligerent nutters.

The only criticisms I've seen of Adjoa are that she's trying to shock and impress people with her candidness regarding her sexuality and that she's been sleazy towards Jade. Both are entirely pertinent and justified criticisms. And she isn't the only person to have received criticism so far. Cristian has been ridiculed far more than her. Danny has been called a sleaze for his attitude to the twins. Joel and Harriet were immediately rounded on for being UKIP supporters. Chloe was called an obnoxious chav. But because 'Queen Adjoa' (as several people instantly dubbed her, I expect for reasons of race) is black she is supposed to be immune.

The reason many people (myself included) have criticised her isn't even purely because of the sleazy nature of her actions, but because of the double standard when it comes to women. If it was a straight man feeling up a woman without invitation, or a gay man doing the same to another man, it would be a different story. Just look at how people responded to Ken Morley in the last CBB, and he didn't even touch anyone. While the American guy got kicked out for feeling the model's tits.

I know it's burning a hole in your pocket, but do try to hold onto that race card for the time being.”

The mods have already pulled a racist thread about Adjoa, so the OP is correct about racism been part of why some people are so up in arms about her behaviour.

Why people always like to try and deny that racism plays a part in people's attitudes, is so wrong. Some people don't like her behaviour and that's fair enough, but please don't claim that's all people are judging her on.

The only time Adjoa made contact with her was when she was touching the edge of Jade's knickers, and this was when she was talking about something before the pussy bit.”

Quite, but what actually happened is usually irrelevant round here.

I wasn't keen on all that tugging near the gusset and she was a bit sleazy but she's one of the more interesting characters at the moment and I think she has far more potential, for good or ill, than a lot of the others.

Going by the negative reaction to her already though she may as well burn quick and bright for the short amount of time she'll be here.

I'll be interested to see if her fellow HMs like her as the days unfold.

Adjoa also tried to pat Jade's arse and Jade very quickly grabbed her arm and dodged it. She laughed as she got her away but she definitely dodged the move.

There's always one...

If I'm correct (wasn't here at the time), Denise Welch is pretty much loathed on this forum. Silly comparison to illustrate a silly and totally untrue assumption.

I expect her to be evicted as soon as she is up. Sadly even in 2015, racism rears its ugly head. ”

I'm not sure about racism on the forum, but black females tend to not fair very well on this show .
I fully expect Adjoe will be evicted next week predictably .

The last time I think I saw a black female survive an eviction was 'Heaven' on the first C5 series, but it was vote to 'save' that particular series ...

Really? So why did the mods pull a racist thread about Adjoa today.. It wasn't a calling her a ni***r . Someone then claimed the op was just been silly, no the person who created the thread wasn't been silly they were been racist.

So the OP isn't making a silly and untrue assumption, just an observation as to why some people have been so quick to demonise her.

Well I wasn't party to the racist thread so cannot comment on that.

I can only speak for myself, like others have done on this thread (who seem to share the same opinion I do) - Adjoa has not come across well to me in the first 24 hours of the show, and that honestly had nothing to do with her race, and everything to do with her behaviour. I also dislike quite a few other housemates for their behaviour so far - I don't see the problem?

You do realise, by accusing people of being racist for disliking a housemate for reasons that they state that have NOTHING to do with their skin colour, that you are breaking forum rules?

It is unfair to tarnish everyone with the same brush because some ignorant FM or two made a racist thread, which most of us probably didn't even see. You are attempting to stifle people's opinions and that is also unfair.

So basically, nobody is allowed to dislike Adjoa or they are racist? Oh wow, what is it about Digital Spy that attracts people who think like this? Has DS been advertising their site in the Guardian or something?

It's a meaningless trendy soundbite for simple people to latch onto and repeat ad nauseam. The tabloids churn these out constantly
