When I've seen the Royal's on tv they usually just turn up to events and shake some hands.

It sounds like hard work. I don't believe in that myself.

There is absolutely no rhyme or reason for a Monarchy to exist in the 21at Century...in fact any century. Why does any other person feel the need to tug their forelock at another human being... Self respect from a hard days decent work should suffice)

The difference is that royals are more financially compensated for any boredom they suffer.

There's no rhyme nor reason for most things. It's just how things have turned out, the Royalscdo their bit for the country as diplomats, supporting charities and fund raising.
I personally like the sense of history and continuity they provide.

They are also, by an accident of birth, born into unrivalled privledge and wealth. I cannot fathom how any right thinking man or woman in the 21st Century thinks that they need to kow tow, or tug their proverbial forelock to their betters.

It's pathetic, outdated and not at all relevant to any normal eduacted working person in this century. Just my opinion of course.! Jesus...all this in a BB forum
