There was an hour from midnight to 1am on launch night, thats all so far, will be odd bits on eviction nights but thats all

With only 1 million people watching they rightfully assume live feed won't be a very big hit. Cue people saying (wrongly) the lack of live feed is why less people watch...

I reckon they're all out practicing for the X-Factor tour, appearing in TOWIE, Geordie Shore etc...

I'm not sure how wrong that is. I switched off last year and didn't bother last night simply because of the live feed issue. I did watch secrets and lies because it had live feed, well 2 hours but it's better than nothing.

I would agree that live feed would not be a big hit but that does not mean it shouldn't be available for those that want to watch.

When C5 took BB on they had the chance to build a channel around a flagship program but they choose to alienate the older stable viewer in favour of a younger less stable audience. The older viewers like myself are now gone and it's unlikely we will come back. C5 have themselves to blame and nobody else.

There is 20 mins of live feed this Friday so blink and you miss it. Plus it took the heart out of the show not having the feed.

Thanks for that I've asked on loads of threads and you're the first person to answer me, thank so much

The weird thing is, last year they had all the links to the LF on the site, you just couldn't watch them

Is it because so many of them are connected to zelebs and the dubious 'casting' process and they can't be bothered re-watching and editing out anything that may slip out that spoils the pretence of the show?

Yeah me too, exactly that, although I made the stupid error of following along last year just to see Helen get her comeuppance on final night...that worked out well

<edit> I do still have fun on here though - a very dry humour that probably doesn't come across too well at times, but on a serious topic I do try to keep it 'straight'

Wow, and yet the shows are uploaded to Youtube and whatnot fairly quickly...just not the most important part

I'll have a search around and if I find anything I'll let you know

Would love to see the LF from the first night

The live feed is expensive. It needs staffing and policing 24/7 and it costs money. Why is this so conventiently forgotten? Why don't you all put your money where your mouth is and start a crowdfundr and raise the hundreds of thousands you would need yourself? They couldn't possibly spend that amount of money on so few people.

And yet every other BB in the world except Australia manages a 24/7 live feed, despite the supposed huge sum of money involved to make it.

In Australia ratings took a nose dive like here, coincidence?

Don't get me wrong it's too late now, C5 didn't treat BB correctly from the start if they had they might not be in the position they are now.

I'm sorry I did see you asked last night but my computer was off, having said that I didn't know the answer.

Less than that if you take into account ad breaks and opening and closing credits

the closest were gonna get to live feed is if a housemate forces Jack to eat a pie on eviction night when Emma talks to the house

What I liked most about Big Brother was live feed since it started on channel 4

Very addictive and nothing beats watching it in real time ...

fair enough, the advantage of the recorded version is the public being able to see contestants confronting BB or big sister whilst sitting on those odd looking chairs.

But the best experience is LF

Bad but not unsurprising news for uber fans of Big Brother with little live feed scheduled for this year’s series.

While the ‘Timebomb’ twist may see former housemates, tasks and twists return the live feed is very much staying in the past.

The new run kicks off on Tuesday evening with a 2 hour launch from 9PM before Bit On The Side airs with Rylan Clark straight after until midnight.

Our first taste of live house action then begins for an hour but it looks like that’s the most we’ll ever be getting on one night.

The next instalment of live feed isn’t until Friday evening following the second live show of the week and Bit On The Side.

Over the next few weeks the schedules show similar short stints of footage from the house only airing after the main live shows.

The lack of live feed has long been a big complaint amongst Big Brother fans ever since it was cut back in the days that the series was still on Channel 4.

An online subscription model was trialled for one series while in 2013 5* aired live footage nightly for all of a month before it too was canned.

But while live feed may not be coming back, this year will see the return of Big Brother to TV screens in Ireland.

The show has been off-air there since the Channel 5 but this summer will air on TV3 and 3e.

“As the new director of content for TV3, I am delighted to announce the return of Big Brother UK to Irish screens,” TV3’s Lynda McQuaid said this week. “Big Brother and all its spinoffs are large, explosive, constantly evolving, creative vibrant television properties that appeal to a varied cross-section of the audience, and will find a perfect home on TV3 and 3e.”

They do that anyway. Everything is filmed/staffed and policed 24/7.
