Watching this episode, and noticed a fairly large scar on the synth cop's neck - it was pretty obvious when she was walking through the crowd.

An indication to something happening to her previously if/when she was human before becoming synth?

Leo isn't a Synth.

if someone loses a leg and gets an artificial one does that stop them being human?

She's had the scar the whole time but there hasn't been an explanation. I googled the actress at one point to see if it was her or the character. As far as I can see it's the character so there will be some reference to it at some point.

This episode is good so far. Love it when the stories start to properly converge.

Mia can't be Leo's mother, can she? Or perhaps they have/had a child. She seems to be acting as though she is/was a mother”

No, Leo isn't really a synth, he's a human with some degree of synth technology implanted in him. Mia is a synth and not just an ordinary one but a special concious one, able to feel emotions and think for herself and lie and stuff.

Leo and Mia were in a lovers-type relationship from what we've seen. I don't think it would be possible for even an advanced synth to get pregnant.

Millican disagrees with this and leaves the company
Elster dies (is killed?)
Elster's synths are due to be upgraded but go on the run to avoid this
As they're caught, they get upgraded into "full" synths but with some residual memory

But that does't explain how Max fits in as he's an upgraded synth but was on the run with Mia and Leo?

Any other suggestions?”

Mia didn't drown in the car accident (if that is what happened to Leo), she's a synth and they can't die in the same way people can.
Elster found a way to give some of the synths conciousness, and clearly did something to Leo to save his life by adding synth technology to him.

Max is the same as Niska, Fred and Mia, Mia was the only one who got wiped when they were kidnapped because she was fighting the hackers/modders.

Me too. I think Niska and George are being very incautious talking so loudly and openly with Vera in the next room.

Oh Leo, so arrogant! You could have let Mattie try, what was there to lose?

Interesting to know that Leo died as a little boy... where is the grown man's body from?

Great episode so far.

I think you're missing a bit - Leo is just a human who has had synth bits added. Elster wouldn't have been trying to do anything with him other than make him be alive. He had no need for fancy technology for consciousness etc as he already has all that, and more, due to being human.

Max, Anita, Niska, Fred (and maybe the cop) are the same type of synth. Leo is different.

Posters earlier were right, he is human enough to age normally.

First time I've felt any respect (or sympathy) for Toby.

Have just lost a lot more respect for the dad though.

Yeah, assuming Toby realised what his dad has done and decided to cover for him to protect mum and sis, that's shown him in a different light.

This programme goes so quickly - I wish it was longer.

I would never have thought I'd watch something like this but it's got some great actors in it.

Isn't he? I guess this is where the lines blur! He still has the electrical socket and the scary bad man Hobb has him on his screen along with Max and Rob and he's talked about them being all together to "reproduce" (or whatever it is they're going to do). So is he human or he is a synth? Or is the fact that he can age make him human?

It's not blurred. He's a human whose father used the technology that only he had to bring him back to life. He's not like the synths.

The WAP rally was a bit out of place but I did find it very creepy seeing all the synths doing the blue light call room work.

Well the moral of that episode seems to be don't f--k your synth but we could have told him that.

I'm confused about Leo - he died as a child yet has a man's body and man's mind?

Also is the synth cop one of the conscious ones created by Lester? If not, how is she conscious?

So the WAP (We Are People) group are the UK's version of the Human Liberation Front.

Leo - he died as a child but he was brought back to life and he's just aged normally because he's a human.

Synth cop - I'm assuming she was made by Elster but we haven't been told.

The lines may blur in that Synths may end up being classed as Humans but you can't stop someone being human just because they have some artificial parts.

As for Hobb, it's pretty clear he's lying about destroying Fred so I don't think he's that bad a person.

yes, the photo Niska saw. I think it makes sense that hobbs (danny Webb) was on David Elster's team.

Well the Star Trek DS9 episode where the Ambassador has his brain changed with artificial parts to keep him alive, may show that a person doesn't exist if their brain isn't meat.
