Why exactly was he crying? Did the toothbrushes remind him that he won't have children?”

I thought it was because that it reminded him off his own childhood

I think that after his wife Beatrice killed herself, that Dr Elster built the policewoman synth as a replacement wife/companion

I must say I don't really find Leo or Niska very likeable at all. I know we're supposed to think they've had hard lives and developed a real distrust of humans but tbh they're just coming off as unpleasant and ungrateful for the sake of it.

Do we think there will be BAFTAs and Emmys for Humans next year? I think so.

Oh I see - and then he sent her away when Leo freaked out? I couldn't quite see who was screaming 'no' in the flashback but I'm guessing it was Leo as all the others are synths.

On a different point, will we ever find out why Mia/Anita took Sophie out that night and where they went?

I really do hope the finale is good. I've really enjoyed the series so far

As much I've enjoyed this episode , I'm not looking forward to the next one. Of course I'll watch it 😀, but so far, so sad 😫

They should have scarpered the minute they found out dad had called the cops the night before.

What a fantastic episode. Gemma Chan is a brilliant actress, something about her I can't put my finger on, she's very charismatic/watchable.

I loved Niska's playing with Sophie, shows she's not all bad. Along with the way she dealt with George's death it made me really warm to her. We saw a lot more depth to her personality tonight.

Got to say I am really disliking Joe a lot more than Laura now. Laura shows empathy towards the synths, which makes her a little more likeable than before.

Has it ever been explained why Mia/Anita took Sophie from her bed in the first episode?
EDIT: Haha stirling just scrolled up to see you asked the same question! Glad I'm not the only one wondering.

I think we're supposed to acknowledge that Niska is very dangerous indeed.
It's what I really like about the character. The sense of danger and feeling on edge. In that episode I felt that something was going to go wrong and Niska was going to kill somebody.
When the son said that the little girl was okay and was just playing I thought something terrible was going to happen to her.

Was Niska David Elster sex slave?

Yes

Edit to add: she told George in a previous episode. None of the other synths know as she hid it from them.

She got slated when she was in Shetland. (Not by me I hasten to add.)

My only criticism of this amazing series is that I feel Leo is over acted. Is he ever going to stop hunching and squinting?
