I actually wondered if Odi was Bradley James when I first saw him!
Definitely needs new characters for S2 and I wasn't entirely convinced by Laura's 180 transformation from hating the synths to being their savior, putting her family's life in danger to save them! The finale felt a little flat as there was nothing really surprising that happened (relative to previous episodes) although overall I enjoyed the series and look forward to the next. |

Have you seen him on stage? This is the only thing I've seen him in on TV (and I think he's as good as most young actors I've seen) but I have seen him on stage and he is really very good with the potential to be excellent. I hope he manages to run a theatre career alongside TV (if that's what he wants of course).
What did you see him in on stage out of interest? I can't imagine him on stage, not sure why.

I really enjoyed the series as a whole but I was a little disappointed in the last couple of episodes. The conclusion felt rushed and thin.
I think it would have benefited from a longer run, at least 10 episodes. The early episodes were fantastic, with the story told subtly and pieced together at a very good pace. Then this end game seemed to come out of nowhere and had to be resolved in a single episode. |

I don't know when it's repeated but the 'watch next' doesn't stay there the whole time. Best thing with 4od is to put it on on silent while you are doing something else, then when it gets past the last set of adverts, rewind to the start and you can watch it through without the adverts. Have you put full screen on? That gets rid of watch next for me.
I tried playing it in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox but all I get is a black screen. |

Full screen and while the Watch Next and the bottom tab do disappear they come back again, frequently. Every time they do I have to move my mouse and then wait for them to go again but then they'll come back.

I saw Colin Morgan in a film called Parked and he really was very good but the role was very different to the one in Humans.

Such promise shown in the first few episodes and this is how it ended. Utter rubbish ending. Seems like the writer walked out of the programme half way.
Anita was the main interest. Bringing the others in ruined it. Leo was rubbish. There were too many synths to care for them as a viewer. They should have kept Anita as the main synth. Laura was useless as an actor and character. Her Tom brother killed guilt story was laughable. No one cared. The family in the end was too plain. Just ordinary. How they ruined a good story. This will go down in the books on how not to End a series 1. This production was absolutely top notch in every department. The acting was excellent all round, with particular praise to the principal synths Anita and Niska, not forgetting George and Odi ... actually it's really hard to single anyone out in particular when I think about it! Max, Mattie, little Sophie, Pete .. they were all absolutely brilliant! We were kept waiting with baited breath for every next episode and now we'll be doing the same in anticipation of the second series. Don't listen to the dumbdowners, they clearly don't know a good programme when they see it. Millions of Ch4 viewers can't all be wrong! Yes, of course there were loose ends, why wouldn't there be? And so many unanswered questions which, with a bit of luck and careful writing, we'll get to know the answers later! What's going to happen to Fred under that blanket? Has Niska got a copy of the code, or did she give Laura a load of nothing and kept the master for herself? What will Hobb do next? Are Joe and Laura reconciled? What actually happened to lead to Leo's 'death'? Why did Anita carry Sophie out into the night? Was Odi really scrapped? Will Pete and Kate really live happily ever after? These and countless other questions are left dangling like a line of carrots. Brilliant - can't wait for the next series! |

But we've seen there are public charging points. And they were in tents in the first episode so they must be okay outside.

So what is on there?
It was the root code that allowed them all to 'share' and synchronise in order to activate the free will and full consciousness of the original Estler programme .. obviously! Isn't this what the entire series has been about? |

Most people on here and Twitter think the opposite. Started of well and got ridiculously dire at the end. What a weird old world this has become! |

I have seen the opposite where a lot of people like it so i think it must be 50/50 opinion wise to how people whether people like or don't like the show. In my opinion i really enjoyed it and kind of like Anita/Mia.

Totally agree. Some of the direction was amateurish. Towards the end the family hanging out with the synths in the park and then the grandiosely named magdalene crypt was embarrassing. The actors did not know which way to look as they were all standing around with very little to do or say. It was like watching a bloody school play with actors waiting for their turn to say their lines.
The final scene with the dad and son playing computer games while the mom walks in looking pensive was buttock clinchingly embarrassing. For the most part and towards the last 3 episodes it looked like no one had a clue on how to end this malarkey. Poor Gemma Chan was made a bit part and in place was that mumbling idiot of an actor. He had the looks but no charisma or screen presence, unlike Gemma. All in all a poor 2/5 for the series. It will go down in history on how to kill a series. Its ok for young adults but not serious TV watchers. Naturally a programme of this nature is not going to satisfy all the people all of the time, and of course we all have our opinions to which we are entitled and which we like to air on here (that's what this site is for, after all) but I'm simply non-plussed by the total variance to the mainstream opinion that your own comments have demonstrated! Here's to Series 2 (but I guess not for you)

I discovered that 4od isn't in HD, which was rather disappointing, but apparently BBC iPlayer is the only on-demand facility that does show programmes in HD. You live and learn! |

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! What you must make of 99% of TV I cannot imagine! If this is your final analysis of one of the great dramas in recent years, then I suggest you stay away from the second series!

Is the Swedish version available dubbed anywhere?
http://www.tvmuse.com/tv-shows/Real-Humans_34721/ I looks to be a live streaming facility (in HD) possibly not subtitled but maybe dubbed in American English. Without playing it I can't confirm. If you follow this up, let us know if it fits the bill.

Yes, I was surprised by Colin Morgan. He seemed so good in Merlin but I really didn't like him in this.

.... And the whole 'let them go' routine was just unbelievable.... as was the laboratory guy viewing Leo's flashbacks and not noticing that woman shown on screen was identical to the one standing behind him, speaking with him, etc.... oh my I could go on. This episode and the previous episode was just weak which is a shame to say as the story line could have been portrayed much much better than it did. The best thing about this last episode was the reappearance of Max.

Hardly one of the greatest dramas, it was enjoyable enough but i don't agree that all the acting was of the highest standard.

I can't recall seeing him in anything before Humans, but he seemed to fit the part of Leo OK. He looks like so many other young actors today (unkempt hair and can't afford a razor .. no, that's not a beard, it's can't be bothered to shave) so time will tell if he gets to make a name for himself in the future. Good luck to him I say!
The unkempt look was because he was playing a homeless fugitive on the run. He looked very different in Merlin. |

It was all a bit incoherent at the end - everyone just drifted off like at the end of a party.

Got round to watching my recording last night, overall pfft.
Gawd knows what went wrong with the Mum n Dad, but I struggled to believe in them. Struggled with humans generally and the family in particular been so taken with Synths, they'd to all that bother for them. If only there was some more of Karen and other Coppers story relationship. I was never hugely taken with the series anyway, can't be bothered to analyse when it really went off the boil for me. Don't think I'll bother with series 2 when ever it turns up. |
