Funny point of view. As a straight man I get equally turned off watching lesbians squirming about together as I do watching gay men in a clinch. Perhaps the turn-on to which you refer might be in the imaginings of guys who see themselves in some sort of threesome? But then, er, that wouldn't work with lesbians, would it!

these mercs are odd. i would have thought their pay isnt high enough for them bother resisting interrogation.

Silo? Did he mean like a missile silo? Or the farming type?

Glad to see Trinity thought that guy's sentience was only an emulation. Though, when you think about it, is there a difference?

I know Leo isn't totally synth but he fits the bill!

Especially since he shed the Merlin tag, nice as he was in the series.

Lucky Gillian Anderson, that's what I say!

I'm not finding it as good as the first series so far, but I'll stick with it to see if it improves.

I agree, the first series had a dynamic. The synths were being pursued with vigour by Hobb, there was something tangible about the pursuit as Niska held the 'code', but now it's been released and kind of backfired the drama has been lost.

Also the 'what if' wonderment of perception, boundaries and intrigue with Mia/Anita being in close proximity to the family and her being synth has been swung around as she now has the same dilemma/boundaries with the shopowner (I forget the wishy-washy's name). But it's not intriguing, it's kind of creepy - she has the emotional development of a child so it's like a child with a crush on an adult, sort of 'just wrong' in some aspects.

Dr Morrow *cough*Trinity*cough* is leaving me quite cold.

Spoiler
Let's hope she is actually a synth.

The only possible glimmers of hope are that Hester has been 'born bad' - she's become conscious as a psycho/sociopath - I tend to the former as she is questioning her feelings about her actions in that she's not really feeling anything or finding her way.

Plus, the Niska situation could be the usual E.T.-style emotion provoking interrogation, but it's hard to forget Niska is already a killer due to her abuse while already sentient.

Handled with care we could reach the end of this series but I fear I may lose interest if the plot continues to be so tepid.

I couldn't get the significance of the close up shot of Mia hurting her hand when the cafe owner grabbed her. He looked shocked, as if something unexpected had happened. Was it just the sight of blue blood that shocked him, or something else?

I didn't really understand that bit, how did he injure her? He just seemed to grab her and then there was "blood" on her.

He accidentally put her hand on the kitchen hob.
I dislike the series so far as the writers have used the wrong plots IMO.

1/
Niska should have done a wikileaks and releases the code to the public.

2/
The synths should go to an embassy and done a Assange. perhaps the Dutch or Japanese embassy will be receptive to them?

3/
The birthplace of robotics, Japan, does not get much of a mention. it was nice to feature the USA, but japan would have been cooler, as their culture respects robots.

When her hand was burned, she gasped with pain. A standard synth wouldn't have done that so I assume he realised she wasn't the same as other synths.

What a lovely surprise to find Odi amongst the discarded synths, and to see that Mattie is going to give him some purpose again!

I thought Will Tudor played a blinder as Odi in the first series. Especially realistic were the scenes when he was malfunctioning and his speech and accompanying tics were so robotic. Just lovely to have him back.

I quite thought that Niska was going to go off on one. Putting cuffs on her was a waste of time though, wasn't it? Surely she's stronger than that.

Hester's a bit of a loose cannon too .. interesting to see how her part pans out.

Odi is lovely. I wouldn't say no to having him in my room - even if he is malfunctioning!

Surely being conscious and feeling pain are two separate things? Do synths have pain receptors?

Odi was my favourite character in the first series so it's great to see him back.

I agree with the comments that Will Tudor is excellent in the role. I can't wait to see where this year's storyline takes him.

I think the difference is in the way that they report such incidents, e.g. 'I appear to have suffered some damage' versus 'ouf ffu fffu ffffffuuuu aaargh'.

Wasn't Odi the name of Garfield's dumb canine house companion too ?
That kind of sums up that actors character as well, adorably stupid.

Anyone else think the plot is kind of going nowhere so far ? The irritating family are way too prominent doing zilch, Carrie-Ann Moss' character is melting synths by the dozen and Mia is as ever "conflicted".

Nothing else to watch on Sunday may be its best quality.

Last week's 7 day consolidated rating was 3.4m. That's a bit down on last year, but it's still very good by Channel 4 standards.

Last year's figures were 4m for the 7 day rating, and 5m for the 28 day ratings.

Garfield's friend was spelt Odie, but well remembered!

The show is a wonderful slow burner this time round, keeping us guessing and remaining intrigued enough to remember to put it on series record so that we don't miss anything.

Can't wait for next Sunday.

Ok, I will go with your premise that it is a slow cooker and much will happen in the coming episodes. And it does have my undivided Sunday evening attention.

In the first series, Anita/Mia put a needle in her eye without any kind of reaction. She also got hit by a car and although damaged didn't demonstrate feeling pain at all so I'd guess they don't have pain receptors as such but register that they are damaged.
