I think a Seraphim may just be an Elster model
Maybe, but given there's so few of them and Fred is the only one whose whereabouts we don't know (he was mentioned briefly in ep1 but I can't recall exactly what was said) there can't be that much of a black market in selling them if there is only one possible model up for sale.

Just seen that another theory is that Seraphim are child synths.

Still enjoying series 2 of Humans - easily the best show on TV at the moment. The hour flies by and I look forward to the next episode

EDIT

Whooo! 1000th post - only taken me 10 & a half years......!

What the hell is a synth doing at school? Apart from providing a love interest for the boychild from the Hawkins family.

And poor Mia

Funny how synths want to explore their human emotions (as humans would) rather than as a true AI would

The school synth is a girl pretending to be a synth. She 'transitioned'.

Dare I say it... last night's episode was quite weak IMO. The last couple of scenes were great, but a lot felt rushed or glossed over. I think things are still ticking over quite nicely but the writing isn't quite as tight as I've come to expect.

Why would they want their robots to look so human anyway?

It would be very costly to simulate a human like that.

If we were to have 'synths' as housekeepers or whatever, I'd much prefer it if they looked like a robot e.g

I really enjoyed this ep, they need to show less of the boring marriage troubles between the husband/wife and more of the synths.

I hope to see more of Odi because he's just adorable and I loved his relationship with George. Poor Mia I was not expecting that at the end.

Where the hell is Fred??? I still love the show but it's been kind of slow and dragging on, so far it's not on par with s1 but I hope it gets renewed.

That was what I was also trying to get at. it's a pointless waste of money, especially in factories.

Perhaps it's because the synths also have the "adult" option.

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered (I haven't read the thread this series) but can anyone tell me why the other synths don't ask DI Voss why she doesn't share?

All the questions and loose ends are quite annoying.

I love the show but it's been slow feeling this year. So many strands as well.

Hmmm, good question, as she is the only synth pretending to be a real person and doing a job with other people, maybe she has removed some transponder/communication device from hereself.

Or else, it is just to allow the plot to be plausible and just suspend disbelief as it is sci-fi.
I mean, how did the nasty aliens always know which Star Trek officers were nobodys and killed them instead of Kirk ?

Not quite enjoying this series for some reason.

It amazed me that they have synths yet the electric reading synth was reading the meter as they do now

Surely they would just look at it and digest the information.

Her off IT Crowd and ginger husband are so boring.
And how have they managed to have three brown-haired kids when they are both ginger?

Even these days we have smart meters that can be read remotely. Their suspicions shouldda been aroused when the synth knocked at the door and asked to read the meter.

Ah okay, thanks for the response. I would normally run a mile from anything remotely sci-fi (including Star Trek) so I'm not familiar with the parameters of the genre.

I wish Little Miss Brainy would fix his poor arms - it can't be that difficult?!

I am missing William Hurt in this series, gave it a bit of Holllywood glitz.

Those three kids should all be bright ginger and as white as a sheet, they should self-combust when they go outside in the sunshine. I wish Miss Smarty-Pants would.
