I am missing William Hurt in this series, gave it a bit of Holllywood glitz.
Carrie-Anne Moss not good enough for you?

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered (I haven't read the thread this series) but can anyone tell me why the other synths don't ask DI Voss why she doesn't share?
I thought this was mentioned in the first series?

Karen Voss was one of the first conscious synths and was created by David Elster to recreate his dead wife Beatrice. There was some kind of huge issue between Karen and leo I think because Leo was angry that his father had tried to recreate his mother, So rejected from the rest of the synths, Karen left to live independently.
Karen tries to ignore the other conscious synths, as she just wants to be left alone...

But I should imagine the strands will link up again at some point

Yes I remembered all of that from series 1. But with all the other conscious synths, the 'normal' synths ask them why they don't share (in both series). So I was wondering how Karen gets away with it when she is surrounded by normal synths every day at work.

Have the other Elster synths been asked to share while passing for human, I can't recall?

If not it may just be that normal synths initially identify other synths on appearance and as Voss looks human they don't bother sending her a signal to share.

The only other one who has passed for human is Niska isn't it? I'm not sure if she was asked the question when acting as human.

Yes.

I'm trying to remember how the Police Detective was a Synth pretending to be a human in the first place.

My wife is asleep.

This series is a pale shadow of its former self. Watching it for the sake of it now.

The Policeman has been investigating a black market in the sale of Synths known as Seraphim.

He intitailly thought these Seraphim were conscious synths but he has now found out they are normal synths in the shape of children.

That child synth had been in the boot of the car the police detective was chasing.

The child synths are being created by the company Athena is working for.

No. I don't think anyone is. I don't take any TV seriously. It's TV. However, I (and I'm sure many others) are enjoying this show for what it is and aren't too worried about it being in any way actually "true to life" or "accurate" or whatever problem you're having with it.

Don't like it? Don't watch it!

Reading here. Glad I did just that
series 1 was always going to be a tough ask to follow
when they brought back the "family", I decided there and then not to keep watching

Calm down dear! Don't give a damn how 'accurate' it is
I'm finding it quite amusing in a slow-mo disaster kind of way.

I'll see it out now seeing as it ends next week, I think.

There's 3 more episodes.

I'm still watching and I'm interested enough to watch to the end. I haven't got much to compare it to though as I rarely watch drama on TV and never watch sci-fi. I started watching it last time because of the cast.

I'm struggling to follow the American storyline this time and I'm not keen on the new conscious synth.

Ah right, sorry. I thought it was shorter than series 1.
Goes nearly up to Christmas then. I'll be abroad when it's broadcast!

I am enjoying this series as much as the 1st series.

Glad Mia retuned herself but would have liked to have seen what happened to her after they left her.

Go Niska on escaping!

I'm enjoying it and am not the slightest bit bothered about any inaccuracies or whatever, it's not like it's something we have in real life today so no point in trying to rationalise everything in it. I like the way it's not set in some mythical future, but in an alternative present which is just like our present but with synths. The electricity meter reader turning up last week was a good reminder that it's not set in a super-technical future where I'm pretty sure meter readers won't be needed. The houses, the cars, the clothes, everything is just as it is today, but with the benefit of synths to do most of the boring work.

I found the child synth a bit disturbing, why would anyone want a child synth when their purpose is to do menial or boring work? It's not like we need children to go up chimneys any more.
