Hi folks

My parents have a Humax Freesat HDR1000s and they are not great with tech and are getting on. The EPG on the HUMAX is very confusing for them because the EPG is full of multiple versions of the same channels (BBC1 Wales, Scot, London, NI, HD etc.)

I love to be able to make a favourites channels and make it the default to show when you select the programme guide. I've searched here and it doesn't seem possible to do that, because the guide always defaults back to "All Channels". (I'd add that I found it impossible to add channels to the favourites, it does not exist as an option when you press OK on the channel bar, I must be missing something, any tips greatly appreciated).

So the other option would be to remove the unnecessary channels from the All Channels list. Given that I've struggled with adding favourites is there anything complicated about removing channels from the All Channels list? Also what happens when the box is re-tuned, I'm guessing the removed channels get replaced?

Many thanks for any help with this,

Regards

Bill

You can't modify the EPG, but you should surely only be seeing one BBC1 at the top of the guide at 101 and the rest much further down?

You could probably put the box into non-Freesat mode and tune the channels manually but you lose most of the functionality of the box so it's really not worth it

Thanks, I'll take some pictures of the EPG at the weekend as my memory is a bit sketchy but I thought they were quite near (the EPG wraps so going up from 101 rather than down may be where the confusion lies, can you stop it wrapping?)

I was ultra frustrated at not being able to add channels to the favourites. My Panny Freeview PVR stays on favourites and works perfectly to filter the dross out.

You can create a favourites channel list, the only problem is you have to turn on favourites every time you open the epg. (list up OK). Note the list button also gives you access to genres (You can for instance show only HD channels).

You can also delete channels you don't want from the epg.

To create and edit favourites - Settings - OK - right 3 times to More - OK
OK on favourite channels.

To delete channels - OK on Editable Channels.

You can't delete channels while the box is recording.

You are welcome.

While in the epg, did you know that if you know the channel numbers you can jump straight to that channel at the current time ?

Eg tapping in 126 jumps to Channel 4 HD without having to scroll through multiple pages.
