Big brother finally has a personality again. Very sweet moment. Really enjoying this series so far

As usual at this early stage producers are doing almost everything right - twists aplenty to disturb the equilibrium is NOT the way forward.

It struck me that usually in that sort of situation they usually come out with "BB is always here for you to talk to" or whatever.

I suppose with someone being upset so early on they will be trying to be a bit more supportive.

It was supportive. Also a couple of Harriet's family have tweeted about it. BB concentrates on negativity quite a lot, so its nice to see that a family member of a HM is impressed with the way BB have tried to cheer up a family member. Harriet's sister tweeted:

The diary room BB man who was speaking to her sounds like one in a million, astute, quick witted, compassionate, sensitive and aware of what makes good TV without making fun of anyone. A star, as she may become in big brother if given a chance.

When speaking to the whole house, would like BB to be more strict with them all, and stop the shouting out when he is speaking. Making an example of a few of them and showing them who is boss wouldn't do any harm.

Glad to see this thread is 100% positive, was a lovely moment from BB and was the perfect way to deal with the situation, the way Harriet's tears turned to giggles was one of those unexpected and unplanned moments that make BB unique.

I admit to disagreeing with her politics, but that is not the topic here.

Big Brother has empathy. just what was needed at that time. and I disagree totally with some of the BBOTs audience who said she was just doing it to gain sympathy, I have seen some right old acting in my time, but that was genuine anguish. the poor girl really thought she was a useless waste of space and had not done much with her life in comparison with others. I just hope she can talk with another HM and get it all into perspective.
