Why aren't they calling Jack Pie Face?

I'm just wondering why the producers have labelled him by his real name, when I feel like he made it clear that he generally uses Pie Face. Emma said to him on Launch Night, 'So do you prefer Jack or Pie Face' and he said, 'Well, everyone calls me Pie Face really,' and she responded 'I'm going to call you Jack.' I suppose he could have been asked to be called Jack, but it wouldn't seem so as he introduced himself as Pie Face on his VT.

The BB producers aren't strangers to letting people use nicknames, given that in the past they've had Housemates named Kitten, Sunshine and Wolfy (whose real names were Kathryn, Yvette and Ainslie respectively). And in BB10 as part of a twist, Freddie and Sophie were called Halfwit and Dogface for most of the series!

His name is Jack, he should be called Jack, not some lame nickname.

Yes, I know. As I said, in the past they've frequently had Housemates using nicknames in the House.

That was their real names. In order to achieve full housemate status, they had to change their names legally, by deed poll.

I don't think it was actually legally binding. It wasn't specified, but I'm sure if either had been evicted before they were allowed to change their names back, it wouldn't have continued on the outside world.

I think BB would have paid for them changing back or to something else if they wanted to

Again they have had worse on.

I agree it's stupid and TBH when it was said to him it would have been a insult as they would have been mocking him but either he didn't realize or decided to turn it against them and start calling himself that

Worse than Pie Face, really ? It doesn't really get much worse than that. And it's not like they are all mates in there, they barely know him.

He`s very young & maybe its the best attention he has had in his life, as he seems quite proud of the fact that it caught on & made him a minor celebrity in his hometown. But I agree, it was probably not said to him as a compliment & I don`t see any need for BB to reinforce it.
Hopefully being on BB will make him more famous as Jack & he won`t feel the need to rely on the whole pieface thing anymore.
