You are quite right. Her Mum was in my daughter's class at Secondary School and she speaks exactly the same way. In fact, many people in London speak the same way. we are usually called cockneys although that isn't strictly true

I may have lived oop north for nearly 30 years but I know a genuine London accent when I hear one. I can often pin point what part of London (to an extent) too.

It's not really an option these days. It's either that or live with your parents forever. No affordable housing anymore.
