What are we actually voting for though?

The whole app vote for voting for our favourite. I'm sketchy due to what they did last year with Ashleigh. IF it's got to do with the person being safe from that week, I'd choose Sarah because she looks like she will get a lot of votes and I want to see more of her. If it's for a twist which makes someone have to make a decision, then a quieter HM like Jack or Joel so they don't sail through. Whoever is chosen though may get cocky like Wolfy, Maxwell and Saskia.

Do we know?

They definitely hinted at it being some sort of poisoned chalice. I'm guessing that whoever's chosen will probably be the only person to nominate, or maybe choose one or two who are definitely up.

it seems to be clear on what you are doing... you are voting for who you think would be your winner if this was the end (hence the timeshift theme)...
but they are not actually the winner at the end from this vote... and the result will be part of a timebomb related twist...

it is a game... you are playing a long in an interactive way. that is what "voting" does.

See this is the problem. I'm not voting as I don't know what I'm voting for. It's pretty obvious that the production team have a few different scenarios up their sleeves depending on who wins the poll. If it's the favourite Jack, then the twist will be something that benefits him. If it's someone the producers aren't bothered about, then it will be a completely different scenario.

If it's clear, then do you know what the twist is? Are we voting for a housemate to be immune from eviction? For a housemate to vote for other people to be up for eviction? Something completely different? I might want Kieran to be the winner of BB at the moment, but if I vote for him, tonight's twist might result in him somehow being up for eviction or having to do something that would put his place in the house at risk. Hence why I'm not voting, as I don't know what will happen if I do.

Pretty much the twist will be decided once they know who tops the poll.

In short if it's a male it will be something good.

If it's a female probably something bad

From what I've gathered you are voting for your winner and the HMs will be told but they aren't actually the winner. This could have a negative impact on the HM so I'm loathe to vote for my favourite. Also there was mention of a big decision to be made by them so even more why would you vote for your favourite

It's a mess basically. I can see the voting figures being tiny. The vagueness ifcoursd as ever acts in BB favour 'roll eyes'

That seems fair considering they got the favoured treatment in the last vote when Jade got luxury and Abjoa was saved

it doesnt matter what they get, that is not what you are voting for... it is what will; happen.

now what you want is not what is being offered. they want to know who is most popular. you want to decide what happens. its not your choice.

Of course it does. If my favourite was Kieran and I voted for him and he was told he could have a party with five other housemates, but would be up for eviction for three weeks, I would be annoyed. We are being asked to vote for who we want to win the show...so essentially, we are being asked to vote for our favourite housemate. Nobody wants their favourite housemate to be evicted or nominated for eviction, and we don't know that is not going to happen.

Yes I do want to know what happens. I'm not going to vote for my favourite housemate when there's a chance that the twist could result in them being up for eviction.

Something to do with the money.

then don't vote.

its an interactive show... you get asked a question but you get played as much as the housemates... thats the fun in it.

It makes no sense to vote without knowing what it means for the person who wins -- without knowing what the twist will be. The OP explained very well why it matters, at least in terms that would make sense to most viewers.

I won't.

Being played isn't my idea of fun.

If we had a poll, what percentage of do you think would agree that we shouldn't know what we're voting for, because then we get played as much as the housemates, and that's fun?

Of course it matters what they get. It will matter to them; it it will matter to most viewers; and it can affect the future course of this series. If it doesn't matter to you, fine; but you're just one viewer who happens not to care.

I suspect the reason they're using free app votes so much is that it means they don't have to follow the regulations for phone votes. I wonder whether there will even be phone votes for evictions.

I think a lot of people will be carefully NOT voting for their favourite just in case.

BB have been doing that for years. Keeping viewers and housemates in the dark about rewards until the recipient is confirmed.

everyone voting has to remember what rylan said on the first day about voting then and over the series... "nothing is as it seems" - if you are taking anything more seriously then more fool you.

Maybe it's the fun in it for you. You don't seem to understand the premise of 'Big Brother'.

Good point. I don't think I'll vote either.

no, it is you who are not listening to what is being said on the show. BB is not what you think it is, it is what they say it is

"What are polls? - taken from http://bigbrother.channel5.com/faqs#how-do-i-vote
During the series we will be running different polls where you have a chance to share your opinion on a whole host of Big Brother-related topics, some of which MAY influence activities in the House."

this is poll not a vote (votes are defined as the eviction paid voting under the "vote" not "poll" tab of the app) and it is not costing you anything...

people really need to know what it is they are doing when PLAYING ALONG with the SHOW

You still don't seem to be understanding what people are trying to tell you. I take it this is the first series of Big Brother you have ever watched. We are voting for our favourite housemate. The person could end up being up for eviction, banished to a hidden room, made to do something to another housemate.

That's the thing. They should make it clear to the viewers what they are actually voting for. Because when they do this thing they currently do, it just makes you think that they decide what to do after the housemates have been chosen depending on who they are.
