Hi,
I'm new to this, so please forgive me if this has already been dealt with. I have recently bought a new Humax HDR-1800T and it doesn't always record what I want.
I check that the relevant icons appear against the programme in Guide and in Schedule. Yet when I go to playback, it is nowhere to be found.

Most programmes record successfully.

Recent example of failures include The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 and Britain's Got Talent on ITV 1. Could this just be a faulty recorder?
I had none of these troubles on my old non-HD Humax, which, incidentally, was much easier to use.
If it helps, the recorder is connected via HDMI to my LG 42LM670T.

This looks like a known issue

Have you updated the firmware over the air or by USB?

The normal reason for this issue is that an automatic tune has tuned in channels that are from more than 1 transmitter. The clue is that there will be channels in the epg with channel numbers over 800. These may well be the best channels or a mixture of both. Because auto tune picks up the lowest channels first on a auto tune and if the two transmitter frequencies overlap you get a real dogs dinner. In any case whichever channel number you try to record from the accurate recording system doesn't work.

The solution (if this is the issue) is to delete all your TV and Radio channels.

Identify your best transmitter and make a note of the UHF channels it uses for the multiplexes, and then manually tune each one in turn. Note for SD Mux select DVB-T and HD ones select DVB-T2.

The DTG reception prediction detailed view will locate the above info for the OP's postcode and house number.

Should have been resolved back in 2014 by a OTA update. The OP needs to post what software the box currently has. If it's a new box it's very unlikely to have last years software on it.

Ironically my first draft was around the 800 channels being an issue, then I found the thread in the humax forum and amended it.

You could still be right on the money . We don't much about where the box came from ( might be secondhand for instance)
