According to the Daily Star, the once biggest supporter of the show.

Close to a million and they're not even in week 2 yet. Can't see how this series will sustain over a million per EP at this time of year. Not once Love Island, TOWIE, Life on Marbs etc start in the 10pm slot.

Bad move making it start in May?

I am struggling to get into it this series.

No live feed
Tweets going of at 12am
Little to no uploaded vids
Not surprised and when Love Island starts I see a further decline .

As I said in the other thread it's funny now The Star and C5/BB are not owned by the same person they are pulling it down when over the past few years they have bigged it up.

Odd thing is this year is already better than anything Desmond owned BB ever put out.

I disagree. Think the series with Dexter etc was brilliant. Probably the best BB. And Desmond C5 has had the two best CBB also, Jan 2014 and Jan 2015.

Wow, I didn't even know it'd started.

Oh well, missing the first few days gives me good enough reason to give it a miss this year, and probably forever more... and this is a first for me as I've watched every series since the beginning.

Someone let me know if/when they bring the live feed back, because that was the only reason I got into it in the first place.

The Dexter series was awful I stopped watching it was so bad Gina and Dexter are two of the worse HM's in BB history in fact apart from Conor Gina is the worse.

Didn't watch CBB 2014 becuase Jim was in it and I really don't like him I have met him many times and he is one of the nastyist people I have ever met.

Heard lots of people saying they didn't know it had even started. Unless you watch 5 you won't have seen any advertising. And really who watches 5.

add to that
the type of housemates[many comments on Facebook saying where are the 'normal ones']
meddling with the launch night twist/nominations/eviction
many comments i have seen are saying 'its just more of the same boring' etc
maybe the Towie viewer who they appear to want to attract has had enough

I think Love Island will flop hard so I'm not too worried about that at the moment. It didn't work with celebs on the main channel, so no reason to think it will work with TOWIE types on ITV2 and I certainly won't be ditching BB to watch it.

It may be that Timebomb will pick up over time, especially if former housemates like Nikki Grahame will be making appearances as strongly rumoured today.

Viacom has owned C5 for a year now.

daily star was support when they were owned by the same company.

c5 was "sold" but the transaction did not clear until late last year.

Standard drop after a launch. It's just the launch was low. But then how people access TV is different and getting less about watching live.

TV Overnights are also a load of balls anyway - especially with ondemand services and plus one.

It's normal to drop after launch.
Also Daily Star are just pissed that Desmond is no longer in charge.
A lot of people didn't know It was on, especially because it hasn't started in May or like 6 years.

If people bothered to tune in, a lot would enjoy it.

Putting the show on at 10pm doesn't help, they'd probably get a million more viewers if they started it at 9pm.

So.... approx 115 less people with BARB boxes didn't watch BB?

Sorry, never been a fan of viewing figures regardless of how much advertisers and TV shows put their faith in them.

As I said yesterday

Ratings/Viewing figures aren't everything you know - times change - as long as people still watch who gives a crap about ratings.

Ratings have been in decline since BB8... so just enjoy the show....... (or not)

I wouldn't take too much notice of what the Daily Star says, they are just sour because:

a) Desmond's gone and it looks like moving away from the showbizzy vision he and the Star had for it

b) They know they can't stir it up as much as they used to with their negative guff

Small matter of Eurovision next week which will impact on the Saturday rating but Saturdays don't usually do well anyway, and then the Champions League final the week after

Barely a week in is hardly cause for panic, let them settle in and judge them further down the line

Viewing figures these days don't mean as much as they used to, especially in the age of on demand, on the go technology where you can view at your own convenience. Many shows on TV have 'suffered' ratings declining for years for the same reason.

Quite interesting how some former housemates look at the ratings though. Lea from BB7 has said on twitter that nothing will beat the '10 million her series got'. Hmmm, bit over optimistic me thinks. BB7 as good as it was only averaged around 4.8(ish) million on the whole, despite the odd eviction rising to 6 million. Although the final achieved 8 million lol.

1.1m last night does seem a tad low for week1.
Although I can't remember what it got last time round in week1,does anyone have a breakdown of the previous series ratings?

I didn't even know it had started until the day after......I watched the launch on Catch Up TV....wasn't impressed with the Housemates....I wish they'd vary the age group.....Not watched again since.....maybe I'll give it a go on Catch up again.....but I agree, the 10 pm start won't help the viewing figures !!

Last year's series probably put a lot of viewers off. Horrible bunch of housemates and wouldn't blame fans if they didn't watch again. I've not watched CBB since the last series but decided to give the new series a chance and I'm enjoying it so far.

I reckon you should stick to it. Imo it reminds me more of the Ch4 years in terms of HMs.
