People are obsessed with viewing figures.

Me too. I find them all a bit samey, and the twin gimmick is old hat now.

I really liked the series with Dexter etc, it was Fives best series IMO. I'd rather forget last years and that repulsive creature who won it.

Ben Frow was pretty obsessed with them last year in all fairness.
trouble Endemol and Channel 5 have they said a series of changes would occur
(not just a feed) but the General direction it seems they have just carried on from last year.

Really puzzling what's happened because dec/Jan MTV was going to host a feed and series of changes to the format and it appears its more of the Same the same that failed totally last year.

until they bring back the live feed and stop having twists every 30 seconds then I won't be watching, no big deal, I'm sure me not viewing is no big loss to them, shame though

Wonder what they class as 'normal ones'?
I think it's a pretty good mix considering they all need to be a bit out of the ordinary to even get through the auditions.

More people are watching in other ways and the fact the show is rerun several times on MTV, Channel 5 and 5* all add to the viewing figures. You can also watch through the app and on demand.

Also did it not mainly play out at 9PM last year?

People are calling Viacom to get rid of Ben Frow at the moment on Twitter .

I've given up completely now, the last few series I have given upon at some time but last year was the end for me, that awful woman winning was the final straw. Anyway it's just another Towie and I hate Towie. It's not my idea of entertainment anymore.

I can remember the time that the daily star implied that big brother had a rating of 25 million viewers on 5
quite a dramatic decline then

On C5 even the very best ratings on C4 never got even close to that.

They may be close to 25 million if they combined all the days up through the series.

The 10pm start is useless and part of the reason why the figures look bad but I will maintain that last years Helen Wood fiasco is the main reason as many viewers were cheesed of at the BB show. Maybe they have learned from last years outcry and hence really good HM's this year, hope , fingers crossed that C5 will have learned from last years mistakes.

my post was more about the daily star than big brother
if my memory serves me correct, a misleading ratings headline that the small print could never back up

and what the TV execs can't seem to get is that the TOWIE lot are absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to TV shows - what about the rest of us!?

I for one would like to see some intelligent, normal, articulate people living in a house - free from outside influence and manipulation!

Judging by the fact that Ms Wood is making her second appearance on BBBOTS tonight I'm guessing they have learned no such thing.
