CS: Tim a better parent than Anna?
I don't hate Anna like some do on here but to me it seems like Tim's a better parent to Faye tonight than Anna. I just find it hard to believe in Anna's decision not to allow Faye to go on the school trip. It doesn't take two people to take a baby to the doctor's and you can't exactly blame Faye for wanting to go somewhere with her mates after being off-school for ages.
Tim allowing Faye on the school trip seemed much fairer than Anna's strict 'No trip' stance. |

I wonder if Anna would treat Faye differently if she was her biological child? |

Far enough, children needs boundaries, to learn that actions have consequences and not to constantly be let off their 'mistakes' but this is 2 children's lives she is oplaying with here, it is not some kind of abstract life lesson. Yes, he's maybe a bit too soft but basically I do think that Tim is a better parent yes. |

Vlad the Impaler is a better parent than Anna! Anna needs to be one of the people who die in the fire.

I'm not enjoying the writing around this one as Anna has always been a very protective mother and it seems now that Faye is irrelevant as her entire focus is on the baby. Doesn't ring true but then with the standard of writing these days I'm not sure why I'm surprised.

I like Tim, but he is not a better parent than Anna. Tim wasn't there for all of Faye's life, whereas Anna took Faye in and have loved and cared for her. Anna is a brilliant parent. At least Tim is making it up now though.

I am starting to feel Faye would be better off with Tim and Sally.

Anna's actions were harsh but, in the circumstances, Faye asked for it!! |

I would say he is undoubtedly a better parent than Anna is now. He has clearly learnt from whatever mistakes he made in the past and Anna could learn a lot from him.
With Anna, it's her way or no way. That scene when she went to the school to embarrass Faye was awful. Not my idea of good parenting. |

It is actually laughable that the writers are trying to portray Anna as being some super strict, overbearing mother blinded by despair and punishing her daughter for one mistake she made.....and now make Tim, who was essentially a deadbeat Dad (who barely even saw Faye before the baby came along) as the loving understanding father!
Anna might always have been a bit of a harpie, but the current personality transplant is utterly ridiculous! |

The trouble with Anna is she is too busy playing the great martyr to be seeing what is really going on around her. She was the same with Owen, all "look at me and my great suffering and self sacrifice for the sake of others" to see how her relationship was deteriorating in the process. She is now the same with Faye, all puffing and huffing about her own suffering and hardship to bother asking/listening to how Faye is really feeling. I am surprised she hasn't given Faye a big guilt tripping speech about how she is under great suffering because of her. The way she treated her in front of her schoolfriends was unforgivable. Let us not forget how she treated Roy despite him and Gary sorting things out between them. Awful woman who was likeable once upon a time, but now more negative than positive shines through. I am surprised she hasn't donned a horsehair shirt yet.
![]() I think Faye would be better off with Sally and Tim. Sally may be many things, but I feel her relationship with Tim has lightened her up a lot and between them they would provide a happier and more balanced environment for Faye instead of one drowning in doom, gloom and despair. |

Anna is taking out all her angst on Faye. I can honestly feel sorry for Faye, something I never thought I would say. I can see Faye running away tbh and I would not blame her.

To me, Tim is more the 'fun parent' who takes them out for treats and is easy on the kids while Anna is the 'strict parent' who lays down the law and the kid has to do what she says, or else. I don't agree with Anna forcing Faye to keep the baby (although she doesn't seem to resent her too much now?) but I do agree that Faye can't just swan off whenever she likes anymore, now that she's decided to keep Miley, (ugh) she'll be required to learn how to look after her and do her bit rather than sitting back and letting the adults do everything for her. Anna also needs to make sure that Faye doesn't get the impression that unprotected sex resulting in pregnancy is no big deal because everyone else will do everything for you and your life will just carry on as it was. It seems like Faye is warming to the baby a bit, but she expects to be able to do whatever she wants with her friends still.
