I agree, I'd understand her getting the name wrong, but she would know that nobody would actually be called Ebola. It came over as calculated.

Oh, it was her was it. Hopefully she doesn't return then. I don't think i have agreed with a thing she has said on BBBOTS.

That was really distasteful and nasty

Hope the production team read this thread and take action

Exactly. It reminded me of the time Brian Belo called those twins "Karissa and Chlamydia"; there's no way it was an off the cuff remark.

This is the problem with today's society. Even when overt racism is punching you in the face, you dismiss it. Not a God in hell's chance of picking up on covert racism then.

I don't like Adjoa at all so far but that remark was totally out of order ,as for the 'the one up the tree' remark that was crossing the line

Exactly.
They should not invite that vile old witch back on the show.
Disgusting behaviour.
I can just imagine what she's like, outside of the studio.

It was a joke, you might not find it funny but I did. Leave the old lady alone

It was obvious she thought she was being funny, I'm pleased to see the majority of people on here don't think it was anywhere near funny

What's funny is that if someone made that kind of joke in the House they'd be out on their ear

With regards to the one up the tree remark I think she tried to make a joke about Adjoa's name sounding similar to the song Agadoo, not that she was like a monkey, but she got the words wrong.

"Agadoo do do push pineapples shake the tree" but she got it wrong and said push pineapples up the tree instead, of course I could be mistaken.

And that was from a supporter of hers, imagine what those who dislike her call her.

But seriously, the woman was just being funny, a harmless play on someones odd name.

You can't defend the indefensible

Nothing funny about it at all , and her name is different perhaps, not odd ,sounds Ghanaian so probably quite common over there

I think if a white person had Adjoa's name then the woman wouldn't have said ebola.

She purely said ebola as ebola is seen as a black condition. Why even do that? Rylan should have said something to her.

Not trying to defend her, I think the Ebola comment was very stupid but the bit up the tree I honestly believe was a joke about her name.

To be fair to Rylan it seemed to shock him too but it was live tv and he wasn't expecting it and really didn't have time to process a response so he just moved the conversation on. I doubt we'll see her in the audience again. If it was the old days of Russell Brand she'd have been crucified with his comeback but Rylan isn't as experienced yet.

For me, it was one of those "wtf lol' moments. I didn't hear the 'tree' reference though. The audience were in hysterics but Rylan did well to hold it together. was pretty shameful if it was a deliberate 'mistake'

Regardless of intellect OR intent, you are all WAY too up there on the offensive wagon.

A joke is just a joke. I'm not saying this was, but all these histrionic cries of "offence"... Sigh.

I wonder if she practised that 'mistake' for ages in the mirror before joining the audience. Silly woman.

Agree. She was totally reciting the words to agadoo. No racism here. Should have known DS would have seen it as such though.

A lot of people looking for offence here. It was an attempt at a joke which fell flat. Don't let's get carried away.
