I found BBUK very educational tonight, I learned that our education system is sorely lacking in it's ability to teach the three R's sufficiently well, judging by the adding and spelling ability of that lot!

It's ''its ability''. You only use it's when you are shortening 'it is'.

ETA: Or should I say, my autocorrect stands corrected although I believe it's is correct (as it is the educational system, and it's is the possessive use of the apostrophe, but I may be wrong!)
