Shut His Pie (Face) Hole!
Kromm
16-05-2015
Wow. Has there EVER been such a pre-determined winner before? Shoves-Too-Many-Pies-In-His-Face seems designed to win automatic support from the public and only won't win if he's victim of some twist (like the Instant-eviction time bomb). Otherwise? A pasty white, fat moon-faced rosy cheeked blokey overgrown boy will get every vote possible. Every time.

The only way this wouldn't happen is if they successfully bribe him off the show (whoops! didn't work!) or if somehow he "peaks" too early and audiences get so sick of him they ignore how viewer friendly the big overgrown boy-man-baby is.

It's odd how the BB audiences have a predilection for fat, unprepossessing, unassuming looking people.

The only reason for people disliking him his he is fat and most of the public like him.

I think worse than that BB are setting Jack up to think he will win, which of course they can't guaruntee. Hopefully he won't be too disappointed when he loses.

Oh, it's just not that he looks unassuming (although he does).

I think it goes further with him. People like pitying others. It's a way to feel superior about your own life situation. So they elevate someone like Pie Face and act like his awkwardness, big red face, weight and such all make him "adorable" and "loveable". And then they smugly smile behind their hands at his antics.

I'm sure he may even actually BE a nice bloke. But the regularity which people on air and in papers and online sanctify him and make him into a populist manifestation of the public as a whole is telling. It's not about him as a person, it's about the ROLE he's playing. That combination of man, boy and baby all in one person.

I can't say I've ever noticed that trend at all ? It's certainly not reflected in the winners over the years. More often I've seen people on here take violently against such HMs with ott hate-filled posts, this thread and many others being a case in point.

This forum has a serious hang up over overweight people.

Not keen then?

I do believe he was headhunted by BB. They spotted him on Deal Or No Deal. He definitely isn't just a normal person who went for an audition. Probably Noel Edmonds put a good word in for him because he couldn't get his tongue out of Jacks arse when he was on DOND.

It does seem that way, doesn't it? There seems to be a lot of hostility towards him but he's not done a lot wrong from what I've seen- there is no pre-determined winner, there's a long way to go but he seems alright so far

I think the majority of HM nowadays are headhunted, remember last year when Chris said he was approached to appear on BB?

I wasn't talking winners, nor was I talking mainly in relation to this forum. Are you telling me that you don't remember the general initial reaction to Wolfy? Or even Jack and Joe in that same year? And then there was Pauline from last year. Thank god the public caught on quick to that one. The general public just seem to have a thing for overweight, gormless looking young men and women.

The problem isn't that he's overweight. The problem is the way that like magic, he appears and pretty much instantly (very predictably) countless people (on BOTS, on Twitter, even in the house, etc.) start gushing over how "cute" he is, what a "nice bloke" he is, and also conveniently (or maybe not so conveniently) he gets immunity, prize offers, screen time, etc. as if on a schedule.

The main issue is with show producers knowing that the public as a whole likes to feel sorry for certain people and manifest that in a way on reality TV or on the net, or both, like those people are mascots/pets. It's rarely to never honest appreciation, it's USING these people.

Which if he wins money I suppose he won't mind. But it's a pathetic impulse in the media and in how people respond by buying into it.

We'd better get used to it, BB's favourite HM (Pieface) will probably get lots more treats during the course of the series.
