To strengthen its place as the new Peter is Awesome thread.

“"I cannot say any more about the role or whether I'm a good guy or a bad guy.

But I can say that I've had my photo taken for a potential Doctor Who toy.

We filmed in Cardiff and while I was there I explained to Peter that my adopted children Johnny and Emma were both huge Doctor Who fans.

Johnny joined me in Cardiff for his 21st birthday and Peter gave him a personal tour of the set and the TARDIS. I thought that was incredibly generous because Peter had just lost his mother."

Can you guess where Peter spent this week's day off?

(no, not the Experience again )

He was also recording some Doctor Who audio. The man likes his job.

I was at the Symphonic Spectacular earlier, and it really was spectacular! Capaldi's appearance being the icing on a wonderful cake.

They seemed to have a middle ground with the Last Christmas Suite - some vocals used in the closing piece, but not as much as in the episode...something of a compromise.

And we got to hear Missy's theme without the words all scrambled - the apparent words for the 'love theme' Murray had actually written beforehand.

Brilliant event, and I'd love to go again even! It really showed how the music stands out as superb on its own, and on top of that how Doctor Who can fill an arena just because of its soundtrack. Any qualms aside, there's no disputing the fact that the show is in rude health and Capaldi is at the front of all that right now

He thanked the soprano for her 'enchanting chanting' and got out of his car to sign on the way out.

I HATE how Doctor Who is in 'Best Family Drama' and not 'Drama'.

Being nominated for a 'Best Family Drama' is in no way lesser than a 'Best Drama' one. I can see the reasoning behind it as there are many many dramas being made each year that to narrow it down to just three or four would be incredibly difficult, so to give all a fair chance then the two categories makes for a less bottle-necked situation.
One mainly for hard-hitting dramas that are usually broadcast after the watershed and the other for lighter dramas such as DW, Waterloo Road, Call the Midwife, Merlin, etc.
With the likes of Broadchurch, Happy Valley, Clocking Off, Peaky Blinders, etc. DW would have a very slim chance outside of fandom of winning.
So to reiterate, a BFD award is nothing less, nor more than a BD award, both have to go through the same scrutiny process from a board of experienced governors that really, really know their stuff.
