They were being very boringly careful and guarded. I wish they would just let rip and not think of the consequences. That would be great tv.

And we're entitled to our opinions of her opinions.

Sarah's comments on foreigners and the benefits system being "rinsed to death" seemed at best ignorant to me.

(BTW, I think the article quoted in the OP is misleading re who said what.)

Err?

You work in a cafe dont you, you have the characteristics of a common person dont you?

Who does Sarah think she is? Personally I wouldn't consider her any higher on the social ladder than, Hatties honest and down to earth and Sarah's a pretentious liar.

She was certainly contradictory - immigrants coming here not working taking benefits/I don't believe in racism... no contradiction there at all

Scapegoating immigrants again. It's becoming the national past time. As the son of immigrants I'm getting kind of tired of them having to justify their existence all the time. Just stock them and us finger pointing. It's actually getting quite hacky now.

Totally agree. I'm neither an immigrant or a person getting benefits but it's making me ashamed of this country that these people are seen as scum now.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions, im just saying Sarah didn't say anything controversial that should encourage people to dislike her...it's just her opinions.

Im not here saying shes either right or wrong.

But the OVER reaction on this thread is the main reason why HM's wont open up about what their opinions are on subjects, that's why we only ever hear them discussing sex.

That's a really good point. She's worse in a way, because people on benefits NEED them. She just thinks she's entitled because she's somehow better than others. .

Didn't she say the people coming to this country and not attempting to find work were scroungers?

I also thought she was at uni studying law so is more likely to have a grant than be on benefits and this will be paid back when she starts work. I don't see anything wrong with her studying so she can get a good job to support her and her child - fair play to her. She may even have parents who help out with the childcare so doesn't have to pay for a nanny

I don't think she said anything really that bad (she only mentioned immigrants who DON'T try to find work...though of course it woudl have been good if someone had questioned her on how many of those types of immigrant she thinks there is) and I'm usually quite sensitive to such things. It was certainly very near the bottom of the list of "silly things BB housemates have said about immigration."

Well said. The only immigrants I know WORK either in service / professional jobs, ie Nurses, Doctors (and I thank them for it) have their own businesses, providing the public with a service, (shops / post offices / other) or sometimes do the shitty menial things that 'we' won't do.

This scapegoating immigrants is just a massive smokescreen to throw the population off the ACTUAL problem which is a government committed to squeezing every bit from the population and the poor / most vulnerable to put into their own and their rich mates pockets, helping fat cat tax avoiders, and basically screwing us to make themselves even richer.

What's more ... nothing is ever said about the thousands of British people who migrate elsewhere.

I don't think anyone on this thread is questioning her love and desire for money. She has made that abundently clear on more than one occassion. Moreover, please don't tar everyone with the same brush, many live happily within their means & are not money obsessive.

Her quite questionable comments regarding immigrants are quite rightly being derided for the tosh she is spouting. I only wish there was someone in the house who could ask her to back up her statements with fact.

They're called student loans these days. Also they don't have to be paid back unless you earn over a certain amount. She may have a couple of more kids in the next few years and not actually go on to be a lawyer. Would she then, theoretically, be labelled as a scrounger for taking the money to be educated then becoming a housewife, I wonder? Just a point.

I don't like her one little bit.

Most people that go to the trouble of studying something like law as opposed to media studies are generally looking for a career and will definitely be earning enough to pay back the loan

Because they have to they have no other choice, If each of us was offered a cheque for 10m would most say no thanks I am quite happy as I am thank you, I don't think so. And even David Cameron admits there is a big problem with in the whole of Europe with immigrants and immigration.....
