Not really. He was arguing that the view that homosexuality is "unnatural" is a valid one. It isn't, it's homophobic nonsense. Homosexual behaviour and relationships are a common part of the natural world, so calling them unnatural is basic ignorance and prejudice.

TBF, he didn't argue that, he just asked him what he would say if someone said that to me.

I don't remember Joel agreeing with the "homosexuality is unnatural" argument.

Actually, in the transcript of the episode it said that Joel said he believes you're born that way.

Joel may have been winding Aaron up a bit by asking but he did not argue that being gay is unnatural, he said "what if someone said to you homosexuality is unnatural".

I'm starting to think he might be. To me it sort of seemed like cheeky flirting when he and Aaron were chasing each other around the house and pouring drinks on each other. Then his conversation with Aaron about homosexuality being unnatural seemed like something that a person in denial would say.

I don't think he's been picking at Aaron, I think that's just his juvenile side shining through due to him being 19. Sadly he's got emotionally volatile Aaron as a 'buddy'.

I didn't see him questioning the 'homosexuality being unnatural' issue as evidence of him being a closet case either (not that I'm ruling it out). I felt that was his politician side coming out trying to relate to those around him.

The question is, is he a closet case and that seemed like a pretty on the head conversation to have if you are not thinking about it a lot. Especially if you spent the previous night wet and slippy in your pants begging a gay guy to chase you and spray all over you.

I've assumed he's exploring the idea that he may be gay and sounding out Aaron's experiences because he knows he's 'out'.

What i'm getting from discussion is that all of the guys are secretly gay? I've seen it brought up about most of the guys now. Maybe that's a timebomb.

Joel may or may not be gay but he didn't say he thought being hikiaexual was unnatural. He asked Aaron how he would feel if somebody said that to him. He actually said his opinion was that people were born that way. Aaron said if somebody thought that, he'd be fine with it as far as I remember.

I like Joel, I think he's genuinely interested about things and will make an interesting housemate given a bit more time and confidence. He's still finding his place.

I don't think so but I do find his friendship with Aaron far more interesting than watching Danny and Sarah.

Maybe i'm missing something but Joel was saying it was natural to be born gay and that people don't choose to be. I think he is far from homophobic.

He is not a closet gay but it does appear he may be concealing the fact that he is a bit of a ********.
