Judges Disappeared?!

Did anyone else notice during the Beyoncé performance that the judges are not sitting down at 1.32? Surprised they put that editing together tbh! http://youtu.be/Ohsyyb0OZ9s

They probably film rehearsals as well and also tons of the audience before the judges sit down and get all the shots they want.

They can then make it anything they want and have already decided upon.

The idea of any fairness or reality in any of these shows is long gone: Invited acts that they want will be guaranteed to go through and talented variety acts that they just don't want will have negative crowd reactions inserted and the judges picking them to bits.

Just like the X Factor does not look for people with the X Factor and only want kiddie pop singers to make money from, BGT isn't anything about getting and judging people based on talent.

How does that explain Susan Boyle just turning up?

She didn't. Susan Boyle had been singing in competitions, and pubs and workingmen's clubs for 25 years before BGT. She'd even fronted a local jazz band for a short time. So when BGT arrived in Glasgow, they finally sent scouts to her region where she was well known and they sent her an invitation to audition.

I understand that's how they work everywhere. It's not just about, sometimes, delusional amateurs. BGT has lots of experienced acts, who haven't been able to break through. They give them a chance for the big time. Subo finally got her chance and has made the most of it. Booyah!

I am not disputing that she may have been invited to audition, (do you know that for a fact btw?) but she just queued up with everyone else and it was only during the following week, Susan casually mentioned the audition to her brother. Susan had no idea, until it was broadcast weeks later, that she was going to be a sensation.
I clearly remember her asking SC politely if she could shake his hand when she heard she was going through to the 'lives'. (which of course had been filmed earlier)

As for her having experience...........I thought everyone knew that anyway.

Where in my post did I say that EVERYONE is invited?

I said the invited ones are guaranteed to go through as the producers invited them.

Well, if they do, they keep it quiet. She still gets hit with the "not paying her dues" stuff. She paid her dues. And finally got her break.

Actually, Subo slipped once about the invitation to audition in a TV interview, but subsequently adopted the company line, no doubt under pressure..

Was in the audience of BGT a few years ago - They have you do a few standing ovations etc

To be honest, I don't see the problem with the acts rehearsing beforehand as long as the judges aren't there. And it's not just scouted acts that do it either.

That's total BS. Acts who are invited don't get through and acts who aren't scouted do get through. The judges aren't aware of who's scouted and who isn't. Scouting happens on every single reality show and it doesn't equal fixing.

lol nice catch, like it when this sort of thing is flagged up, obviously we know its all fake, scripted and so on but still interesting to see the tricks they use, editing together many different performances and reactions to make them seem like one event.

I'd imagine they got him to do it again while the judges were on a break so they could get that shot.
