There is none of this this year ..... but it's not bland! There are still niggles starting to rear their head between housemates, but there's more laughs, decent convos and the housemates have a bit more to them - they have some depth, which is a refreshing change from the casting agency people who have been 'hired' over the last few years for the program.

Last nights episode was hilarious, with some classic moments. If you liked the old C4 BBs, take a watch. It's a world away from last years hate fest.”

Thanks, only I did watch the opening three shows and then kind of lost interest. I might dip in and give it another go, as I do like the idea of the 'old school' BB - but although the characters are more toned-down and 'normal' than in past years, so far I'm not seeing any wit or anything that really engages me.

Having watched every single series and episode from day one of BB1, I can honestly say that I'm actually enjoying this years series. I like arguments and conflict as much as the next person, but we get the same old rubbish every single year and I'm just bored of the same old same old. I'm liking that this years housemates are relatively more "normal" than usual and I like that it's a lot more chilled and mellow and is playing out quite nicely, as oppose to most series peaking in the first couple of weeks and then going boring. I don't think this series has even peaked yet. I also think that they will all absolutely explode in a couple of weeks. Every single one of them is so insecure this year and a lot of them are putting on such a front because of it/and partly because they're obviously playing the game. They're all desperately still playing nicely, but give it a few weeks and I think they'll explode.

Well it's certainly way better than last year, which has to be one of the worst series ever, compounded by the horrific foul mouthed winner...

It's too chop and change to detect any sort of vibe. I don't detect any genuine quirk I'm afraid. Most of them have probably been brought told they were amazing and beautiful and constantly told that throughout their lives

I'm afraid this series is heading the same way as year 4. I have watched every series and only given up on about 3 before the final. It must be so hard to choose housemates and I don't think anyone is to blame but this lot are just not interesting. Maybe they are all a bit too rational. I also don't like the cruelty in the Timebomb twists. Watching Nick nominate (on his own) on the first friday infront of housemates was just uncomfortable to watch.I am going to give the show a few more episodes but I can't see it catching fire...

I'm going to hang in there a little bit longer because channel 5 will have to up the anti a little bit or risk losing viewers such as yourself.

The overall feeling I get from the majority of this crop is they don't seem to be very bright, and while I don't rate myself as a brainbox, these lot seemed to have bunked off a lot of school especially, maths, and English.

I would take BB4 over the past few years anyday of the week.

I have stopped watching just because the HM's are to nasty and to many argmunts.

If these lot start arguning I will stop watching again.

I agree with both of you.

My problem isn't the lack of drama or arguments, it's that theres nothing in place of it, because most of the cast are either not very articulate, not remotely funny, or blandly self-absorbed. I mean, seriously, what's interesting or funny about Jack, the twins, Chloe, Danny, Cristian, Harriet or even Nick? They may be nicer than in previous years, but they're not compelling characters.

Ive wanted the show to move away from the explosives for years and back to a more normal house, but to do that, you have to pick characters who have a bit of psychological complexity or who are bright or witty enough to make us want to listen.

"decent convos" I am missing something here.

No big character so far, it is rather boring at the moment to be honest.
