I can see in my EE area that the £10 I topped up will automatically renew start of next month
does that need to go through for the extra 100gb I get, or can I cancel it? |

I sent the 100GB text and then stopped using the card pretty much straight away. Two days later I used it again and that was what triggered the start of the first 100GB month. So there seems to be a possibility of setting the card up ready with the 100GB then letting it hibernate until you want to start the first month. |

Not sure if anyone else spotted, but they've extended the deadline to apply for a SIM card from 18th June to 25th June.

I bet they allow a fair time for delivery, so it should be fine.

Anyone know what the story is now ? Do you have to activate before midnight tonight or is it extended further ?
I got a weird SMS from "unknown" tonight saying they were going to add a further free tenner if activated before the 30th of June! |

You must get 14 days from the closing date PLUS whatever period EE allows for delivery, which could be 14 days or more.

I ordered one more earlier this week and will probably try and activate it as late as possible in July, banking on them having a while for delivery + the 14 days.
I reckon that, assuming they don't extend the offer again, you may well be able to activate it at the start of August - thus being able to carry on until the end of September. Maybe Dan and Phil will offer another SIM by then.

I don't think you need the £10. I sent a STOP PACK to 150 before I put my £10 credit on the account- and I still have my credit, the default pack was never started - but I was still able to send the 100GB sms and activate the data.
Also worth noting, I set the account up using the "get me started" 50MB data in an Osprey. I sent the 100GB text and then stopped using the card pretty much straight away. I got my sim earlier this week, and got an Osprey just so I can use the data in this to complement my measly 2Gb on my EE Sim only ![]() So, what you are saying is... to 'register' the sim the steps are: 1 - put sim in phone 2 - text STOP PACK to <which number> ? 3 - Add credit of £10 4 - send message as directed in the pack to start the 100Gb bonus? What is this 50Mb 'get me started' ? |

All EE PAYG SIM cards have 50MB when you first put it in a device/phone.
The idea is you add £10 and then the pack is started automatically, as it's already applied to the SIM (and if you put any more money on, it will do the same every month from then on). Once you've activated the data pack, you text for the 100GB of free data. |

send STOP PACK to 150, then reply YES to the message they send you back to confirm. If you then send BA to 150 it won't mention an active pack any more.
![]() Edit: what's the number I text STOP PACK to? |

So there seems to be a possibility of setting the card up ready with the 100GB then letting it hibernate until you want to start the first month. After some registration issues (im already an EE contract customer) , I had to call EE and finally they 'activated' my sim and registered me with an online account. They assured me the £10 will be taken out straight away once I top up and activate. lets see.... Worse comes to the worst, I'll need around £5 credit for the second month, so I can just top that up in the second month. edit: so far so good. Online account says no pack info available. but texting BA to 150 brings up the full balance +1p for some reason. I registered myself on this sim with an online account. But could the offer have been activated without registering? I'm guessing yes as you'd need a top up voucher. I'm thinking ahead to the next time they flog these data sims lol |

My second SIM has no online account. I used the top up card that came with it to put the £10 on. It really was 1/ send STOP PACK to 150 2/ reply YES 3/ top up £10 with the topup card 4/ send 100GB to 150 5/ remove SIM as soon as the confirmation came back That SIM is now waiting unused. I'm hoping the 100GB months haven't even started, but it is a bit of a punt. I can't check it without risking starting the data & I can't rely on it - but at the start of August I'll pop it in and see what happens, and with luck I'll have 100GB to use in September for free. |

I have two of these SIMs. The first is up and running and I did make an online account and use a credit card to top it up - I didn't have to talk to customer services though, was able to do it using the 50MB get me started data with the SIM in an Osprey - which can also handily do the text message side of things.

Your second sim sounds like a gamble - if it pays off then great you got yourself another 2 * 100Gb ![]() I've been using my sim in an Osprey all morning. Its just normal browsing really on the work laptop and nothing too taxing and using it in place of home broadband for the moment. It's great being able to use high speed data as I can't even get Fibre at home ![]() In a month or so I'll be handing the sim over to someone for a couple of weeks and they can use it for skype/whatsapp/viber calls for a few weeks which works out a lot cheaper than other options ![]() Couple of questions: I can see on my online account that it shows an 'error' when trying to retrieve balance and pack information - but texting 150 to BA shows a credit of £10.01 so touch wood all seems to be OK there. In the 'Data Left' bit on the page, it says 99.3 Gb ... Not that it matters too much, but I thought the first 1Gb was used first + the 250Mb 'free' activation credit? I havent used it at all apart from browsing so I can't imagine having used over 1Gb already in the space of 2-3 hours. Anyone else get this? I dont want to start calling customer services up in case they activate a pack by default and my credit starts going LOL |
