S6 Galaxy 'vs' HTC one M9? (upgrading from s3)

Currently on s3 Galaxy, o2

As both phones are on android, does that mean they both will have a similar interface/software from apps handling, downloads, whatsapp using etc.?

Does the HTC one9 playstore have roughly the same aps as the s6 playstore?
(as they are both on android?) or not?

have you used BOTH phones?
which do you prefer and why?

Share your experience,

What advantages does HTC one M9 have over the galaxy s6?

Thank you

I've been on both phones in shops, both of them are pretty equally matched, although I'd say the S6 had the edge because it doesn't suffer from the overheating issues that the M9 has.

Also the S6 has a better camera in my opinion having looked at shots from the both of them.

Software wise: They will both have the same apps on the Google Play Store, although the S6 will also have some extra exclusive apps from Microsoft in the Samsung Apps Store.

They both have quite different interfaces, I'd say that the M9 interface is generally the better one, with better design aspects than Touchwiz, although Samsung have made efforts (a touted feature with the S6 was that it had 40% less crap than your phone) and if you're used to Touchwiz it might be better for you.

Hope that helps a bit. If you've got any specific queries about any of them I'll try and answer them or someone else will probably know better than me.

Hello,
I have had experience with the old S3 and hands on with the S6. Before them I also had an old HTC ONE XE and HTC M8.

From my experience in reliability I would go for the Samsung. My old Desire, ONE XE and M8 went for repair at least once. My M8 before I traded it in had wifi problems, Battery issues, GPS problems volume button problems and it was about 8 months old.

I have also found HTC to be fast in releasing a new flagship device and then leaving the rest to rot.

Both phones run the same Android operating system so the experience will be pretty much the same, This means both have the same apps and games.

Hope I helped!

Thanks all, for the help.

Would the 'speed' of opening and using apps, both be similar on both?

eg, switching from app1, to app2 on the s3 was slow.

The speed will be much faster, on these 2, but

Would this speed most likely be the same on both phones ?

Thanks

Hello,
The samsung again would have the edge with this, It has a slightly faster processor, I don't think that side by side you would every notice the difference. The main issue you're facing now with the S3 is it is a very old (In tech terms) phone running very modern programs that take more resources.

Unless you need to use an SD card then the S6 wins this match up without breaking sweat And if you do need that SD card then get the LG G4

The camera on this phone isn't in line with similar phones of the same release (Samsung, iphone) as in, it could be better,

But if for just basic, but regular photos it would be fine I suppose.
