It all fits together, though. In bb14, for example, the idea that Dexter was socially awkward wasn't directly a reason for wanting him to win, but it still seemed to play an important role in why people liked him, or sided with him, and in how they felt about how the other HMs treated him; and those things they played a part in people wanting him to win.
In the thread that told us about Cristian's health problems, the OP said "I think it gives us insight into why he felt like nobody understands him in the diary room in yesterday's show." His health issues also fit in with the idea that he's insecure, or vulnerable, and that there's more to him than there seemed to be on the surface.
