I never thought I'd say this but I've properly lost interest right now
I legit don't giv a shit bout any of the stories or characters ATM

at least when Lorraine was in charge she didn't make that many drastic changes and I still liked characters and stuff

Dtc has changed the show completly wtf its so different now it doesn't feel like ee!

Dean puts me off if I am honest . I find it really stressful seeing him walk around hassling his victim .
If he gets a new story hassling Shabnam I will stop watching

No, if anything I'm more interested after tonight's episode, than I have been in recent weeks.

It was my new year resolution. Soz to be a DS cliché but mostly due to the Carter stuff leaving me cold. I immediately broke it on Jan 1st and that ep had to be like, the most dramatic in friggin' years didn't it?

It's making me feel that same coldness towards the show in general again at the moment, but it's still just about watchable. I am getting to the point where I feel like I don't care about missing out and would rather either watch a more 'worthy' show or just do something more interesting altogether with my time. I'm sure we're set for another decent Autumn/Winter though. Just gotta get through the dry summer first..!

Yes but I've watched it for so many years that, no matter how much I get bored of it, I keep watching out of habit!

Give the Carters *snooze x 100* their own show and then we'll have our EE back.

Summer 2013 and the last two months have been the closest I've ever come to switching off, and I've watched Eastenders all my life.

I'm still very into EE. I didn't catch today's episode on BBC 1 so I caught up with it on iplayer because I wanted to see the latest developments in the storylines.

No way. With Shabnam/Dean sl I'm more into than ever before. Now I actually make the effort to watch it when it comes on TV, and now hours/days/weeks later. Before DTC I stopped watching completely and would Sky+ the episodes telling myself I'd catch up when I can be bothered. After a few weeks or months I'd mass delete ALL the episodes. I can't imagine myself doing that now. However, saying that, I know I can't watch this Kush/Stacey sl so I'll definitely be skipping those scenes!

I'm not especially engaged with it recently bar the odd storyline.

I liked tonight's Eastenders. The Who Killed Lucy final episodes were mostly very good although I found Bobby as the killer a bit of a let down. Even so Jane and Ian were brilliantly acted. I like most of the cast apart from Alfie and Sharon and thankfully Alfie's leaving Walford for a while. Hopefully he will be written out altogether. Eastenders has improved a lot under DTC. Not all the stories are perfect but I love the Carters and am so glad Linda's baby is Mick's. I would have been so annoyed if the baby was Dean's. I like Fatima but is she sticking around? I hope so. I like Shabnam too. I have a feeling Dean will pressurise Shabnam to breaking point and maybe threaten her and people like Shirley and Buster will finally believe Linda. I won't be switching off any time soon unless we have a heat wave and I'll be enjoying the nice weather outside

I liked tonight's ep and am looking forward to the upcoming Kat and Alfie eps but they are leaving soon and although I will still watch it EE just won't be the same for me without them!

There's a possibility I might not post here very often once K&A are gone, it'll give me a chance to catch up with all those eps of Decimate that I have recorded!

It seems to have gone downhill since the live episode. Before that I would watch every episode but now i can miss it for weeks and nothing has happened. Maybe if/when they bring back Kathy things will liven up again.

I really think it's gone downhill since the LIVE episode. And even before then it wasn't fantastic. DTC has done something weird with the show. Whilst he's done lots with a variety of characters and introduced lots of storylines, IMO it's a chore to watch.

I started watching in 2007, and 2007- mid 2011 was pretty much brilliant. I couldn't wait to watch the next episode and its kinda gone downhill a lot since then. The characters aren't engaging, the scripts aren't up to scratch (Bar the odd few), and there's a lack of actual gripping storylines. My opinion of course though.

To answer the question, I have considered stopping, but I can never bring myself to it, as I'll always love the show, and watch it out of habit.

Yet again, EE has suffered following a big event - in this case, the 30th anniversary. You would think that they would learn from past mistakes, and have a really strong storyline brewing that could take over as soon as the big event is over. But instead, typically, we've had months of weak micro-storylines. Admittedly there have been some decent episodes - such as the Kat revelation - but overall the storylining needs to be much tighter and more engaging. We need at least one strong story, with multiple twists and turns, running at any one time. Hillman-era Coronation Street did this brilliantly, with gripping storylines coming one after the other (and, crucially, overlapping).

I appreciate that soaps need 'quiet time' sometimes, but it's a shame that they can't use the quiet episodes to add interesting texture and detail to the main stories. This is what really good TV drama, such as Breaking Bad, does.

I wouldn't say that I'm giving up on EE, but I'm not bothered if I miss it at the moment (although Monday's episode wasn't bad, I must admit).

Couldn't have put it better myself.

I also loved 2007-2010:

Ben/Stella.
Stax.
Mad May.
Ronnie/Danielle.
Archie.
Stacey's bipolar.
Phil on crack.
Chryed.
Whitney/Tony.
Lucas.

And that's just off the top of my head! One great story, after another.

No. I am actually enjoying it. I also don't like to stop watching a soap, because if I do, I will end up out of the loop.

I understand. I feel frustrated about Dean and Lachlan from Emmerdale walking around, like they have done nothing wrong and haven't even been punished. That is the only thing spoiling these soaps for me. Lack of punishment for those sexually assaulting another person. It isn't right. I won't stop mentioning this on here, until they get some kind of punishment.

Yes. I've wavered a lot in the last couple of months. There's been some good stuff, some really good stuff, but just too much crap. It's getting boring and annoying.

If it continues to be solely about the Mick and Shirley at with everyone else sidelined even in their own big stories then yes. Honestly I do think Dtc needs to go or forced to have a coalistion and have work as a co-producer with sow one who cares about the other characters he doesn't.

Just send Dtc, mick and Dean and things will be fine. Or atleast give them a spin off for the mick and Shirley arc...
