I don't think BB needs to control them with alcohol at all. I think they need to give them more! They hardly get given much anyway. I remember during BB3 when Jade was almost passed out on the living room floor and Kate was pouring alcohol down her throat. These people are adults, if they want to embarass themselves and get blind drunk then let them. BB should only step in if housemates get physical with one another or if racism/homophobic comments are made. They're all adults and shouldn't be told how much they can drink.

BB should only give any alchol ordered in the shopping budget.
If they run out tough as you said they are adults if in the real world they drink it all and have no money they can't go to the shop and get it free.

I just don't think they should be given it every night, I'm sure they used to have to buy it as part of their shopping and then it became more of an incentive to win the shopping task.

They should also allow the housemates to spend as much of the shopping budget as they want on alcohol. A lot of the drama and funny goings on in the early years happened due to them getting blind drunk and being allowed a lot more alcohol. After the racism row during CBB (or it might have been after fight night in BB5), they started to padlock the bloody fridge and gave housemates VERY limited access to alcohol. They instead put huge characters and outlandish personalities in the house to make up for the fact that there was no alcohol to fuel the drama. Since the move to Channel 5 they have been allowed more alcohol, but they should be allowed more freedom with it...they're adults not children.

But do you agree they should buy it with their shopping budget and not just be given it everyday free.
Again they are adults if they run out they run out it's their own fault for either losing the task - not ordering enough or going through it all to fast.

I think they should have to buy it with the shopping budget, but I think that they should be allowed to spend the whole budget on alcohol if they want to. I also think that there should be some of small task each week and the winner must sit in the diary room and do the shopping list...this would cause drama as some would spend it all on rubbish which would end up annoying other housemates, and some would be more sensible which in turn would annoy the housemates who want to have fun. I think they should be given alcohol as a reward for things every now and again, but I agree not all the time.

They still have to eat so some has to go on food.
I wouldn't care myself as I am sXe so have never had any alchol in my life not even in food.

If they spent it all on alcohol, they would still be given basic rations. The producers aren't going to leave them without a thing to eat for a week. A housemate in a previous series done a similar thing and the other housemates were fuming. They were still given basic rations though.

I'm agreeing with you though that they should have to use the shopping budget to buy alcohol and if they drink what they ordered, they should have to go without until the next shopping list. You're right, they are adults, so if they want to be immature and spend the entire budget on alcohol one week, then they should be allowed to. It's a tv show though, it's not a social experiment and hasn't been since BB1...I don't see why they shouldn't be given some alcohol the odd time as a reward for winning a secret task or something.
