Quick question regarding a nokia lumia 520

Hi
I bought this phone a couple of years ago and have had no trouble with it at all, I don't really use it much but recently wanted to add a picture background under the tiles. The guide states go to settings>start+theme but on my phone I only have theme so cant set the background picture, a friend has the same phone and his has the start>theme anyone any ideas why mine has not and if its possible to rectify? Thanks.

I'd be more interested to know how you've had no trouble at all with it. Even making or receiving phone calls on it is a real obstacle course on mine.

It sounds like you never updated from Windows Phone 8 to 8.1. Go to settings > phone update > check for updates.
