My little feline, like me, woke at 5.30 this morning. She looked as groggy as I felt but it was too early to get up and not really worth trying to sleep so I reached for my tablet and after 10 minutes or so realised she was still sitting up, yawning, so I put some mother and kitten videos on YouTube. As soon as she heard the kittens she came up the bed and, once she realised they werent behind the tablet, she snuggled down with me and we spent the next 20 minutes watching cat videos together. Obviously she was only seeing movements but she was fascinated.

What do you share with your pet?

Have been known to have them sitting round the table with us when it's their birthdays to share the birthday cake. Sleep with them. Holiday with them. They really are just part of the family.

I used to sleep with my cat at night, haha, she'd love a good cuddle, I used to have a good natter with her as well.

One thing I don't agree with is giving your pets human food all the time, a positive re-enforcement thing and then they end up avoiding their own food.

I find dogs in particular can be poorly behaved if they are spoiled and allowed to scrounge at the dinner table.

I never understand this human food idea mine have meat vegetables and rice etc all human foods but also all really nourishing for a dog. Unless you mean humans as food then I agree I do discourage mine from eating people.

This brought back memories of my gorgeous cat. He liked sitting opposite me at the table, not doing anything but stare lovingly at me even when my plate was empty. My daughter used to laugh and say all he needed was a little bow tie and it could have been a dinner date.

Cats do seem to respond to sport don't they. And its not just any old sport. Years ago, way before flat screens, I had a cat that would sleep on top of the TV and watch the horse racing albeit upsidedown. Only the actual race though then he'd go back to sleep.

Our cat would sit patiently next to you looking up at you at the dinner table hoping for food, sometimes he'd try and paw something off the table. Mother's dog was the same.

This morning my feral peril decided to help the OH who was clearing the gutters. No sooner was he up the ladder than she was right there behind him but when he tried to get her to come down she just carried on onto the roof. The only way down was the same way she got up so she eventually started to come down the ladder forwards but nearly fell and frightened herself. Eventually got her down but not without a few scratches where she clung on.

Rice isn't nourishing for a dog, they don't have the digestive systems needed to digest anything other than meat really. They don't need veg either though I sometimes give mine a carrot to chomp on but I know it'll come out the same as it went in but it gives them something to chew on. Dogs are carnivores, raw meat and bones is all they need.

My cat likes the football.

I have put cat videos on for her whilst I'm reading a book or whatever. She also comes with me when I go and house sit at my mum's every 2 months or so. I think it's great because it gets her out of the flat, she gets to hang out with another cat (my mum's) and gets to go outside if she wants, albeit supervised.

My dog is a total telly addict. Does go nuts if and sport with balls is involved. As soon as that ball is kicked/thrown/hit he's off trying to catch it. So funny to watch.

My guinea Piggys occasionally watch with me although Mary has decided lately she likes being a hair clip; she buries into my hair essentially clipping it back. I know make sure my hair is in a tight bun before picking her up..,

Dear me.... If it wasn't for rice - and well cooked white rice at that - my dog probably wouldn't be alive.

They do need some veg and wild dogs get it from the stomachs of prey.

Our budgie has fruit salad with us, in his own wee plate of course so he can walk in it! He also enjoys standing on my daughters head when she plays games on the laptop and dances to youtube videos, lol!

Our little staffy cross watches cartoons, sometimes and if a dog barks on TV, she barks back. She goes into that cute His Master's Voice pose, if something on TV attracts her attention.

My young cat loves to sit with me watching YouTube videos on the laptop. And we have cuddles. I love her so much, she is my life.

I watch the Springwatch webcams with my cat. Bluetit nests are her favourite.
She's also partial to a bit of snooker - I think she's an Ali Carter fan (she's got good taste )

DH's cockatiel likes to bop to music, too, especially after he's shared a little beer with hubby on the weekend.

Both our cockatiel and our lovebird share our food with us. Our budgies don't usually bother, especially our little female.

Donald (the tiel) used to steal hubby's coffee quite a bit but he has slowed down on his caffeine intake.

My lovebird always takes a bath when I have my bath. I set up his own water, but he begins with a few splashes from my tub water.

My dog goes stargazing with me.
I often take a telescope out, away from the suburban light-pollution at home, to a regular 'dark-site' that our local astro-society use - usually there's at least a couple of us up there, but when I go there on my own, I take 'Stig' (my 8 yr.old Staff-x-Lab)
He loves it there, though to be fair, he's far more interested in snuffling round in the bushes, than what I'm looking at.
A few years ago though... I'd gone up there for a meteor shower on my own. I was lying down on a grassy slope - Stig sitting beside me, right by my head - when a large meteor shot across, right in front of us.
No exaggeration, but Stig actually barked at it.

Oh, he goes Geocaching too - though for him, it's all about the walk

Not much as she's a law unto herself but we share the same love of walking around forests, up mountains, and going on picnics and caravan holidays with us. I think we're sharing family time with her but she thinks it's all for her and about her.

She does help with the gardening though. Loves to dig. If she sees me in the borders she's right in there. Just needs a bit of supervision so she doesn't dig up what I've just planted but she's pretty good. If i want a hole dug I just point and say, "What's there?", and she makes short work of it.

Has her own digging patch but she ignores it favouring the flower beds. Skitter.

My dog tries to help with taking the washing out of the washing machine. He thinks standing by my side looking at me somehow 'helps'.
