Eastenders - Was Kathy's return the most jaw-dropping scene in soap history?
For me, it definitely was. The second she appeared I gasped in complete shock, had legit no idea it was coming!
With Den, we all knew it was happening - it was reporting months in advance. Kathy was completely out of the blue - it was the last thing I was expecting to happen. Yes, it jumped the shark, but that was such an epic soap moment. |

Nope, I managed to work it out.
For me the most jaw-dropping scene was when Ronnie "died" on New Years Day. - not only did my jaw drop, but my bum slid off the sofa. |

My jaw hit the floor. Despite all the speculation I refused to believe they would ever bring Kathy back.
Her turning up in a black cab was genuinely one of the most shocking EE moments ever. |

Do you stand by your statement that it will "kill the show"?

It did make me laugh at the sheer audacity of it. It's one of the few things keeping me interested in EE. Have to say Den's return felt more jaw dropping as it was the first time it had been done and he was a bloody awesome character. |

I'm still sceptical. I don't think it will kill the show, but I think it has potential to be disastrous.

Emmerdale did the same with the shock appearance of 'dead' Kim Tate - and literally scared her husband to death!!

There was something about the way DTC talked about Kathy that just screamed "I'M BRINGING HER BACK!" it's like he couldn't contain his excitement. I think he's very cute with the way he manages EastEnders - like an over-excited child.

Den's return was awesome. As was Dot's reaction. I hope she's out of bucket in time to react to Kathy's.

His enthusiasm is a potential asset to the show. Just wish it was focused better. |

Yes my jaw dropped open. It was definitely the highlight of the 30th anniversary episode.

I was sat just thinking "if she dies then they would be the biggest shockiest death ever done in a soap!" and if im honest i wanted Ronnie to die for the Shock Factor! but when the Heart monitor started beeping i was like "Seriously?! EE have just ruined a huge shocker" |

Well i knew it had to be her in the taxi when Phil was standing waiting. I mean it had to be a big character to have that build up. Plus we knew it had something to do with Ian. It either had to be Kathy or Cindy....at a push it could have been Pete i guess but it wouldn't have had the same impact. So i knew it had to be Kath

No, soaps in the world before spoilers and the internet when almost every event was jaw dropping was much better.

It was jaw dropping along with EE's Bobby killing Lucy and ED's Donna committing suicide.

No, I'd go for Kat/Zoe "You ain't my mother......YES I AM". It just screams iconic for me, Kathy's return Definitely had such shock factor but till this day, people still remember the exact same words of the Kat/Zoe jaw-dropping scene and their reactions. 14 years from now, will people remember Kathy's return as much as Kat/Zoe? will people be filming and replicating Kathy's return in various locations around London?
"You ain't my mother......YES I AM" is arguably one of the most revelatory and iconic scenes in soap history |

Lynsey's death in Hollyoaks. Just a normal episode and then...dead. No warning.
