It's only been one day on basic rations and they are going nuts.

Plus they still have food it's not like they have nothing at all.

I myself have eaten less over the past few days than I have watched them eat.

And baking their own bread I always bake my own bread.

Would it hurt them to just have toast for a few days ?

Bread, potatoes, Rice. What else have they got?

With various ingredients have they not got some imagination between them about what to do with these ingredients?

If they've got potatoes, they've got chips.
If they've got rice and vegetables then they've got curries or something like that.
If they've got bread, they've got toast, sandwiches, and something to dip into sauces.

They should stop their whinging and crack on with it. It's not like they've got to survive on bread and water. They simply haven't got a LUXURY food budget. Boo hoo, fricking hoo.

To be fair, they are a bunch of lightweights. I'm finding it hilarious that they are so feeble and lacking in any kind of grit. It will wear thin pretty quickly, though.

The first couple of days will be the worse there be fine though you just have to ride out the first two days there bodies will adjust.

Lightweights indeed - I don't eat rice, I don't eat kidney beans, I don't ... blah blah blah. What a bunch of fusspots, hopefully this experience will teach them a thing or two.

It's a shame that none of them seems to want to be adventurous with the cooking, although - having said that - we don't know yet if any of them are, as we rarely see them cooking (and only Sarah at that).

It was a serious question I asked above, does anybody actually know the list of foods they get on the normal food budget?

I just want to know because I want to see how rich and varied their meals could potentially be compared to how limited they think they are because they can't see further than the base ingredients.
I'd love to see what posters here can come up with based on what ingredients they actually have.

Well, I think they have pasta, they have tinned tomatoes so there's a spaghetti sauce. They have beans/chickpeas, etc. .. very nice mixed in with rice. They have herbs and spices in the kitchen to spice things up. They have the makings for bread, they can have beans on toast, always a good staple. They have potatoes - they can make chips or can have baked potatoes. Just for starters.

Potatoes alone that is.

Chips.
Mash.
Baked.
Roast.
Wedges.
Boiled.

Baked Skins.

Diffrent meal everyday until the next task.

With a few stock cubes and basic vegetables, they could make soups or broth.
With some eggs, they can add water and again some basic veg, herbs etc and make omelettes.

And with pasta and rice? There's no end to imaginative dishes they could try out.

These are the foods i actually prefer, but I guess this lot are used to McD's or Pizza hut type foods.

Alcohol & cigs will be the test for some. Sarah has already mentioned 'don't pinch my fags' owtte.

They're probably so bored all they can think about is food. We're hardly gonna get much conversation from this lot anyway are we. Probably a reason they give them daily tasks now so they don't have 11 hours of moaning to edit,

Exactly James.

Also with flour they could make all sorts of things:

Pancakes
Scones
Bread / rolls
Make a batter for a variety of things including fritters
Doughballs to put in casseroles / stews etc

There's no doubt many others, but someone with a bit of imagination and creativity is all thats required.

The twins will probably object to baking bread because 'it's a waste of ingredients' or something like that. They found some petty reason not to let Joel bake the small cake and will probably do the same with the bread.

If they bought cans of tomato, some herbs and onion, they've essentially got curry and some pasta dishes covered. No imagination the lot of them.

They have flour and onions therefore they have onion bhajjis to go with their curries.

Seriously, there was loads of tinned stuff and a huge string of garlic too, everything tastes nicer with garlic.

Didn't HMs used to make their own bread? I'm pretty sure they made some in bb5.

Exactly. They have watched BB so how come they are griping over lack of food, they know how it can be. They have onions and rice, fry off some onions, boil the rice, it doesn't taste that bad. Grind down the cooked chickpeas, add oil, and with some toasted bread you have toast and hummus. Think on your feet, Mums have to do it all the time.

When I was their age, I had to force myself to eat more than chips. I absolutely loved them and couldn't get enough. There's nothing quite like chips for breafast, with lashings of tomato ketchup. That's two of your five a day, before you're even out the door.
