I used to suffer from social anxiety disorder. It was debilitating. Couldn't even go to the shop to get bread when my mother would ask, and of course I couldn't tell her what was going on, so we used to have a lot of tension in the household due to it. She thought I was saying no just to say no. In any event, I never would have been able to go through the months of auditioning with SAD. That makes me question whether his anxiety is actual SAD. But it could just be a more mild version. It is weird though, because you can be a confident person and still suffer from SAD. Nick isn't confident, and has said this a number of times.

Mine too. I think that he is the most observant one in there. He is a people watcher. Being selected to do his nominations face to face sets him apart.

People who have or have had some type of anxiety issue - if that is even what he has - do tend to be a lot more observant than others. We are people watchers and very deep thinkers, and usually quite creative. At least in my experience anyway. There are some psychology facts to back this up, but I cannot remember them now. I like Nick anyway.

That's a nasty thing to say.

I also peel he skin of my lips, but in my case it's not anxiety. My lips are too thin so they get dry too quickly.

If Nick's anxiety was very bad he wouldn't have been able to make it though the gruelling audition process, imo. And he certainly wouldn't have had the confidence to appear on television. He simply wouldn't put himself forward in the first place.

I have SAD still have it bad when I go to the shop I use self service if they have it that way I don't have to talk to anyone I never ask for anything if I need it if I have ni choice I have thrown up with nerves.

I have had therapy been in counselling had a psychiatrist when I was in the psychiatric hospital talk to me about it as it wad connected to the depression lack of self confidence and suicide attempt.

Nothing has helped though with the SAD and self confidence but at least I'm not trying to kill myself.

I feel for you and you sound an incredible person. I ignore people who make these putting down comments - you don't have to explain yourself at all but your answer was a bloody good effort at putting that poster in her place!

I agree. I think that he is the smartest one in there and certainly not suffering from any disorders.
