Hello everybody, this problem is driving me mad!
I have a Samsung UE39F500 TV with two HDMI slots. Amazon fire TV connects fine with sound, Sky TV connects fine with sound. However, just recently, when I connect my Toshiba blu-ray player, I can see the picture fine, but no sound.
Tried it on two separate TV's, and plays fine with sound. Plugged in a different blu-ray player, same problem.
Changed HDMI cables, tried plugging into the other HDMI input on TV, same problem??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried changing the audio settings in the player, normally there are options like, bitstream, pcm, stereo, 2 channel, DTS, it could be set on a format not compatible to the TV.

If its not already set on stereo/pcm/2 channel, I'd try that option first.

Thanks. My settings are;
Spdif - PCM, HDMI - PCM, Down_samp - 48k and DRC - Auto.

I woudn't have thought the settings would be wrong in both players?

Really depends on how they were setup previously, SPDIF, Auto, another - Auto would more than likely pickup DD5.1 /DTS soundtracks, so a good chance your Samsung won't be compatible. SPDIF would only give audio if you were connected via optical.

HDMI PCM would be the setting of choice.

Thanks for the response.
The settings are both off for Spdif and DRC, and HDMI is set to PCM.

Still no sound....

I meant to stress earlier, that the settings on my players haven't been changed since initial setup when they were working fine.
