Vodafone are considering a merger with Liberty Global the owners of Virgin Media.

Its getting silly now though as the lack of competition and oligopolistic trends will really hike up prices.

Its been talked about as a possibility for a while. First speculation dates back to at least 2013.

I think they would be crazy sell of India to fund this specially just after them spending so much in latest spectrum auction there and finally gaining 100% ownership of it.

This deal has more benefit on the continent then in the UK surely.

How many players do you need to avoid an oligopoly? 3 at least I would say and then good regulation. UK is heading this way in reality.
