Kieron did indeed suggest older people needed less sleep and he said so to Eileen..In fact he was surprised she got 7 hours because as he assumed 'older' people need less sleep.

As for Sarah putting her in her place, again, no she didn't. In fact Sarah was left looking silly after Eileen quite rightly told her she wasn't there so didn't really need to butt in.

Sarah, and Christian, made themselves look stupid tonight. Eileen is old enough to take matters up with whoever she feels is insulting her without anyone else telling her how to feel. There was no animosity between Eileen and kieron Sarah inserts herself into too many arguments in the house IMO.

Eileen took it to Sarah in at an attempt to get approval for it.

If she would have got that she knew she was onto a winner and it would have pushed her up the pecking order a bit of the house.

Eileen didn't take it to anybody!! She was talking about it and Sarah butted in. She has a habit of trying ( and looking silly ) to come across as a 'peacekeeper'. She can't keep up the 'agreeing with everybody' act much longer. It is also makes her look false. Like she's trying too hard.

Eileen has enough respect and house mates who genuinely like her, she doesn't need to go up in any pecking order. That's clear to see.

Yes, that's exactly it! There's nothing organic or spontaneous about the woman, her actions and interactions all seem to be horribly hammy and contrived.

I agree with those that said she handled herself just fine - she wanted to clarify the situaton with Kieran as what he said had bothered her, he and she talked like adults and cleared that up, then she was talking about it later and Sarah butted in when it wasn't really needed.

I'm torn on Eileen, there are times when she amuses me a lot, others when she irritates me... but then I could say that about most of them

Cringe beyond belief. That's why I wanted her out on Friday. She's clearly out of her depth...and her rude and aggressive behaviour is simply being excused or completely ignored because of her age.

I have had moments where I've found her somewhat endearing - particularly in the first couple of days. I thought she was awful tonight though and I find her very aggressive in the way she deals with people. She doesn't listen to other people = at all.

Yes, I do see your point. I think, as with many of them, I want to see how she pans out, how she develops as a housemate ... it's too early to really tell although they are all settled now and nicely bickering away I do think it was good that she and Kieran sat down and maturely discussed the situation (whether she had a valid reason to be annoyed or not) rather than arguing it out, although if all the HM's did that we'd have no show

She's even more annoying and obnoxious than the twins, which is saying something.

Kieran actually said that older people sleep LESS not more so Eileen misinterpreted him on purpose. She also delighted in bitching about Jade when the rest turned on her.

Whether he said more or less is irrelevant. The point was about talking to Eileen as though she's just her age rather than as a person.
Some are saying that she was rude and aggressive. She didn't come across that way at all to me. She wanted to get something off her chest, and did what people on here say housemates should do, approach the person and just let them know.
She wasn't aggressive, she was calm, didn't lose her temper, and didn't start shouting. She just let her feelings known. It was Kieron who was being overly defensive and raising his voice. She was telling him that she knows that he didn't mean it, she just wanted him to be aware of how she felt about him treating her as some old person. She is only 51, and it is very patronising.

That's the thing with being patronising, people aren't usually conscious that they are. They need to be informed that they're being patronising or they'd never know that they are.
They sorted it out, they were holding hands, and that should be it.
