I think - I may be wrong - he,said he thought you need less sleep when you‘re old.
Now that ...er at the end of the adjective makes a big difference as whether you take offence or not. I know it would to me.

Having said all that, I do find Eileen overacts a wee bit on other issues though. Not a major issue but a wee bit annoying.
I am totallly with Eileen however in her age issue with Keiran.

One day she gets upset because she needs sleep otherwise she can't operate the next day, and wants less noise in the bedroom, the next she's complaining that "old" stereotyping is going on - she can't have it both ways.

She's a good HM in that she'll voice an opinion, but her opinions are pretty crap....save the maggots for instance - so she's pretty lame really.

[quote=keeping_it_real;78215914]She received many nominations last week citing her age so I think she was right to pull him up on it and quash the idea that they can keep using 'worrying about keeping her awake because she's old' as a reaso

I'm sure he said older. They were talking about sleep and she needs / gets 7 hours and he said I thought you needed less sleep when you're older. It kind of has the same implication but clearly saying 'old' would have been very rude and stupid and he doesn't come across as either of those things particularly.

Like Sarah said, he doesn't deliberately offend people. Eileen didn't appear to agree with that

No hard feelings. She has quite good emotional intelligence compared to the others IMO.

She's much tougher than she first appears. I think that contradicts her dizziness and can seem quite paradoxical.”

I read the telling people to butt out differently; I thought it was patronizing and, in the case of Cristian, in particular, EXTREMELY patronizing. Mind your business young fella, kind of an approach. He did seem like he was trying to help. I think she's very tough; and I can't warm to her. Someone described her as 'hammy' on here the other night and she's extremely so.

I have to agree with this.

I'm inclined to agree with this. I'll never see my 30s again, unfortunately, and recently was on a study trip with a bunch of 20 year olds. We had a blast and I reverted back about 15 years but it was a running joke for the week that I was their 'mammy' and I couldn't cope with two nights on the booze in a row and I needed to get my sleep etc. etc. etc.

I didn't find it in the least offensive because it was both funny and true. Eileen seems incredibly uncomfortable in her own skin.

Yep, just like when she was smashing eggs on her head. I find her embarrassing to watch to be honest. She tries WAY too hard.

Nail on the head, it would explain the dreadful cosmetic interventions too

its one thing having a laugh about age differences but how would you have felt if four of those students voted to have you kicked off the course because you were older and needed more sleep?

Well, I didn't enter Big Brother with them; it's hardly comparable! You know what you're signing up for and you know that there will be a majority of much younger people on it.

Her issue this time was Kieran even discussing her age.

Indeed.

She is coming accross as all sorts of ridiculous. I championed her when she was nommed for being older, but instead of disproving her housemates, & showing her fun side, all we have seen is a snipey, acerbic, massive chip on the shoulder woman.

Quite frankly, I find her all shades of ridiculous. If ever a "grow the hell up" was needed, it's for Eileen *where is the roll eye when you need it*

Very apt description. I find it very uncomfortable watching her TBH.

Isn't it usually the case that in tasks housemates are complained about for not trying hard enough?

Yes, it was another of her performances, rather than juts trying to do it as fast as possible.

That's a different sense of "try hard".

Still not better today basically naming the people she wouldn't nominate
