Should there be a Doctor Who TV Channel?
If so, would you watch it?
I think a Doctor Who channel would be a great way for people to watch classic series episodes; much better than the Horror channel. I would certainly watch it.
A channel showing doctor who, with 5 minute adverts in Inappropriate places. Little logos in the top left hand corner of the screen, pop ups towards the end of the programme advertising what is coming next, someone talking over the end credits? No thank you. I will just watch the official dvds

BBC channels don't have adverts.
Yes. I've got the episodes on DVD, but I do sometimes watch them on TV too.
The bbc will never do a dedicated TV channel' devoted to one programme. The only chance is something like watch or the horror channel doing a day of doctor who programming.
No thank you. The over exposure would kill the show quicker than you can say Michael Grade.
I think most understood it to be another commercial channel along the lines of Dave, Gold, Alibi, etc.
As for having a dedicated channel then I too would have to say no to one for reasons already mentioned by a few.
By all means I'd welcome other genre channels giving us a special week, weekender or just the one night perhaps once a year but that would be it for me.
I wouldn't mind if they did something similar to the www network where it's a monthly fee (9.99) and you get to watch their library on demand. They could produce exclusive documentaries and other special content for the doctor who network and if it turns out to be real popular they can produce exclusive spin off series and episodes.

It wouldn't, nor could it, be a BBC channel. Therefore, it would have to use advertising revenue to gain funds, cutting into the episodes in odd places, and all the usual junk you can expect when shows not built around catering for adverts are used. It would be terrible, I'm sure! The proof is already out there - try watching the episodes on Watch, for instance...
NO. I'm a great lover of DW - especially the Classic Series, but I think I prefer seeing the odd story on Horror that I haven't seen for a long time. For instance, I'll be recording the stories from Thursday - "The Daemons" which I haven't seen since the 70's!
But wall to wall Doctor Who would be a bit of an overkill TBH!
Most of us have lots of the DVD's anyway!
I love the omnibus editions on a weekend - and the ad-breaks are usually when the original episodes ended...so they are only every 20 minutes.
Scrap the Parliament channel I say, and make a Doctor Who Channel. Use remaining budget on CG to convert NuWho sets back into wobbly masterpieces.
Hell, scrap all programming on CBeebies and replace them with non-stop Tellitubbies narrated by the Master (John Simm), and Derek Jacobi can start using his Master's character to narrate In the Night Garden.
Dear Lord. This forum needs a holiday. or I do.

Yes it would. It's better to have the official DVDs, plus the odd repeat on Watch and BBC Three.
