Yes people have individual opinions and they are often valid, but that doesn't mean they are not influenced by prejudice, overt and subconscious ones.

It's occured to me that maybe she has a whole pile of insecurities beneath the surface, and the constant "I'm good and beautiful" thing is trying to convince (and comfort) herself. Also the whole - "I don't care" thing is a hardened defence barrier too she's learnt, to protect and mask how she really feels.

You've got to give her credit, the "I don't care" thing has worked pretty well on the twins. They look completely lost and out of their depth around her, despite it being 2 vs 1.

Personally I warm to confident people who don't need other people to validate their views, opinions and sentiments. As much as I may be a bit meh about Jade I do admire her attitude and that's more than I can say about many of the others.

I'm the same, but its a fine line between confidence and arrogance. I like to think im my own man and im certainly forthright and secure in my opinions, but I don't have to be a dick about it (most of the time)

I personally think Jade has handled this pretty well, despite having some deep insecurities.

If people can't get down with Jade's positive vibe then that's their problems not hers.

Jade is pretty but she is NOT intelligent. She came up with that ridiculous story (lie) about being traumatized as a child (seriously, traumatized) because a family member falsely accused her of playing with an Ouija board. She can not think fast on her feet and I just found it to be a sign of stupidity.

How do you know it wasn't traumatic for her?

I don't think it even happened. The way she told the story make it seem like she was making it up on the spot.

Maybe some females are just able to view women objectively on their personality and not get distracted by their looks.

If we went by the theory that girls are jealous of pretty girls and that's why they get voted out it would be fair to assume they don't like them. How is it then that pretty girls like Taylor Swift or Kylie Jenner have millions of fans? Using them as I'm assuming it's about the same age bracket.

I'm not saying there aren't girls who aren't jealous, but I think the jealousy excuse is over used.

It's a tedious accusation, I agree. And sexist too, given that it's only EVER directed at female viewers as if we're all so shallow, so competitive and so unsisterly that we feel threatened by a complete stranger.

Re Jade, I like confidence in a person. And there's no point denying you're attractive if it's a fact (she IS a model). But conceitedness and vanity is quite different IMO...and I see it in her actions as well as her words: the swooshing her hair while she looks at herself, the little shimmy out of the diary room last night like it was a catwalk. There's a reason why the story of Narcissus is a cautionary tale.

There's some irony that this is being used to defend Jade, when she herself took against Sarah on day 1 for having 'bad energy', and then the twins a few days later again for inexplicable reasons (and they said they felt immediately that Jade didn't like them). If anyone has seemed threatened by other attractive women, it's Jade. That's part of why I'm not a fan. She's letting the side down with all that stuff.

If we were to break it down to evolutionary brass tacks, I would say that jealousy is the wrong word. More likely the root is rivalry or competition for a mate. It's a threat reaction if anything and yes it does exist.

She isn't threatened by Sarah who has tonnes of guys fawning over her and was voted the most attractive by the public.

The twins are vacuous, hence why she doesn't like them.

It's pleasing that this series of BB is inspiring debate, so much better then last year.

The biggest of those standards is symmetry which Jade doesn't have (one eye is about half an inch higher than the other and a different shape) and having the eyes widely spaced which she also doesn't have.

If you were to cover her eyes the lower half of her face is attractive which is why she looks better with lots of slap on as it disguises the above (ditto when she was wearing a hat which cast her eyes into shadow.)

I believe the most attractive thing about her good posture which is entirely down to believing herself to be 'all that' so at least in that respect it is serving her well but beautiful she is not.

Maybe in Jade's world, if she tells us she's beautiful enough times we'll believe it

Why not give Jade the benefit of the doubt.

She doesn't automatically have to like women to keep the "sisterhood" alive and well. Sarah is a gobby mouthpiece with passive aggressive tendancies and the twins are just superfluous eye candy & only in the house because of their twinness (if that's even a word). Moreover, they're not terribly nice girls either.

I don't believe JADE is letting the side down. In fact I think many of the females on this forum are guilty of that themselves.

I'm not a massive jade fan but I find her very interesting to watch. I also don't see what the issue is with someone being confident enough not to need other people's validations

The Twins are frankly 2 pains in the arse and not pleasant at all.

I'd rather get the twins, Eileen and Harriet all out before Jade.
