Why is SkyGo on the PS4 not supported by any of the DNS providers?

Hi,

I live abroad and would like to access my parent's sky Go account via my PS4. This works fine when I'm in England, but in when I'm in Denmark, it doesn't.
I have a DNS subscription with Getflix, who support SkyGo on other systems, but not on the PS4 app. Is there a reason for this? Unfortunately no DNS providers for SkyGo support for the PS4, including Unotelly, UnblockUS and Overplay.
Why doesn't it work after I've inserted my dns provider's ip address on my PS4? It does on other systems/computers, so it seems strange that it does't automatically work on the PS4...
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Perhaps its the way the content is delivered to the ps4 maybe its not possible to unlock it with dns services your able to use it in the UK as you have a UK ip address so no need to use the dns provider services

Have you tried setting up the dns in your router if possible?
Also give unlocator a try too they are pretty good.

Maybe your question is better aimed at your DNS provider or of those that you listed as they will be best to answer your question.

We can only speculate on here as to why they don't support it

To expect the app would just work because you are using the DNS for Getflix is a bit much tbh, I have found some services that have 'just worked' like that before, but I do know that some services for some devices takes a little more work on their part to get working

I'm not sure what make of router you use, but if it supports VPN, you could try setting up the new free full VPN on your router Getflix offer, connect to a UK server and that should work as your PS4 would then have a UK IP address.

Bit more fiddling, but worth doing if its that important to you

The reason is quite simple, not enough people have requested it to their Smart DNS provider. I've found that when people want a service to work with their smart DNS, they most likely do one of the following:

* Do nothing.
* Talk to their friends about it.
* Write to forums about it.

Although all of the above may seem logical, it unfortunately doesn't tell the Smart DNS companies that they have a service worth looking into for support.

I suggest the following: Whenever you want a new service or new platform of a supported service on your Smart DNS, contact them immediately, and every time. Write to their support, pos on their Facebook - whatever it takes to get the message across.

The way it works is this: The more people who ask for support, the more likely it is that they will focus on it.

As for Sky Go on the PS4, this would indeed be the best platform to watch Sky Go on, but the Smart DNS providers need to know there is a demand for it.

Its defiantly worth contacted them regarding this as the smart DNS works fine with skygo on an xbox
