I bought this tablet to replace an HP Slate 7 android tablet that I wasn't getting on with due to frequent reboots, and poor battery life, and slooooow boot-up times.
I'm no techie, so much of what I'm writing is very subjective.
The Chuwi is an 8" tablet in an obviously plastic case, black, and not unpleasant to hold, and certainly lighter than the Slate.
The screen is bright and crystal clear with no obvious fuzziness. Videos and photos are sharp and don't lag. Curiously the colours seem brighter in Windows mode.
Switching between Android and Windows is from within the OS - on Android it's in the pull down menu, in windows it's a target on the Taskbar. The shutdown / reboot takes about a minute.
Android is 4.4.4 withGoogle Play Servides supplied. Windows is 8.1 mobile Bing
Battery life is excellent, I seem to be getting about 12 hours plus with the tablet playing music from the SDHC card in Windows, and the screen off. Charging needs a 2A charger and this seems to charge the battery from nearly flat in about 3 hours.
The speaker is on the back in the centre, and is -frankly - crap. The rear camera is poor (but I've not really had reason to test it). The biggest / strangest issue I've had both in Android & Windows is with Bluetooth streaming - the stream is juddering and inconsistent, to devices that work fine with othrvBT connections.
In Android I've had a couple of inexplicable random shutdowns. (I'm wondering about KebabApps Llama as the culprit)
I'm slowly warming to Windows Mobile, despite it being inconsistent (one minute your in an app, then the next it's the old desktop, then suddenly you're in the browser). The Windows apps store is a mess.
I bought it through Banggood in one of their flash sales for £55, but there was £13 on top of that from DHL for VAT. However I am very pleased with the tablet, and rather hope that eventually Windows 10 might sort out some of the Windows weirdness.
