I can understand why some people would get annoyed. However, it annoys me when people get irritated because they can't facebook or whatever. For me, no issue, evening of a bank holiday isn't a big deal. I have been trying to text my friends to arrange a meet up but once I realised it wasn't working I just used my landline. I would be a little frustrated if it wasn't working by tomorrow though, thats when the real work starts and my phone becomes somewhat essential.

However, even then, It is unreasonable to expect anything to have 100% uptime and I fully accept and understand that this will happen from time to time.

Still no issues here on Tesco. If O2 are having issues, shouldn't I be having issues too?

I am on Tesco and have been having issues and the tesco mobile twitter account also states they are experiencing issues.

It isn't affecting all customers, it is intermittent.

I wonder if those who were affected last time this happened have not been this time round?

I know last time I was and my phone wasn't working for hours, yet this time all is fine. I wonder if there is a pattern to it?

Great to know o2 are going to be doing a full investigation to the root cause ...

...did they not say they would prevent this from happening again when it happened before?

With any network outage they will do a root cause analysis... Nothing new.

no Tesco signal in my part of London all yesterday evening. It's fine today. They apologised and say they (O2) are investigating.
It was inconvenient and took me back to the old pre-mobile phone days

Today you can't login to O2 or Giffgaff with all account data down on the websites and the communities down again.

They say it is intermittent, the giffgaff side has definitely been taken down again from a community and account perspective. O2 wasn't working earlier, but may be now.

I lost my signal yesterday for a couple of hours, came back on about half nine, it's been fine today. Technology sometimes goes wrong, it's like your car breaking down. You don't want it to happen but sometimes it does. It's the people now screaming for compensation that make me laugh, nobody should be 100% reliant on mobile phones. Landlines still have a lot to be said for them IMO
