Irish TV signed a contract this year for coverage , so not in their interests to lose the Irish housemate after two weeks.

Also people with 2 noms up this week looks a bit suspicious

I'm sure they could add a new Irish hm if Jade did go. Jade isn't exactly that likable but is however making the show atm (coicindently like most of the previous Irish female housemates)

Either not all the 6 are up, or they could do Save & Replace, or we will be voting for something other than a normal eviction.

That's why the lines aren't open.

Do Irish people not like watching non-Irish people on TV?

A save and replace with Jade winning and putting the twins up would be hilarious !

If irish telly gad a contract then Ch5 have the money in the bank no matter who stays . Also you are being very general if you think the Irish nation only want an Irish winner, they just want to see a bit of decent telly, have you seen the schedules over there

Irish people are very open minded from what I have seen, I think the point of this thread is that as it being broadcast by an Irish network this year, perhaps BB will want the Irish housemate to stay longer.

There have been some years without any Irish housemates and people from Ireland still tweet positively about it. My Irish friends hated Caoimhe from BB11.

For me there will never be a better Irish housemate than Hazel. I loved her and voted like crazy to keep her in each time she was up, two out of three ain't bad.

Agree that's my summary, also agree re Hazel being the best Irish housemate they have had.

She should have won for the crap she was put through

TBH I dont care what Irish TV wants...this is BBUK and they are lucky we allow an Irish HM in there at all.

Well I'm in Dublin and could not have got rid of Caoimhe quick enough in her year. Awful girl. There just may be something in the whole…. contract with TV3 thing… who knows how these things work from a business point of view.

I don't think any viewer here could care less and would certainly not be bothered if Jade was the one to go this week.

I do feel though that she is giving good drama at the moment and it would be a shame to lose that so early.

Save and replace was great in 2010, it had real implications and that would be great to see back.

It was a rhetorical question. Of course Irish people watch non-Irish people on TV.

I disagree that Irish people are very open minded though, insomuch as there are likely to be a similar proportion of open minded to close minded people in Ireland as there are anywhere else. And you haven't really said why BB will want the Irish HM to stay longer. Surely they want the most watchable and entertaining HMs to stay longest, for the ratings, and as it's a popularity contest the public vote takes care of that.

Any sky customer in Ireland always had big brother on c4 or c5 so I hope bb producers don't feel obligated to keep the Irish fans happy by keeping an Irish housemate in the house, particularly that **** ( don't want ban )
The fact its now being shown on Irish TV hasn't made a difference to those of us who have watched for years as the app does not work here ,neither can we vote, but fear not, even the mythical "Irish vote" wouldn't save Jade , only the producers can do that with their obvious interfering

I agree those with 2 noms up is very suspicious

Yes I have I love the Irish history programs. If the Irish were that worried about BB contestants they would make sure they had better ones, the housemates represent only themselves ie is Eileen a typical British 50yr old? It's circus, pantomime not the Olympics.

Why?

This is BBUK isn't it?

Just because Irish TV are showing our BB doesn't mean an Irish HM should get special treatment.

Now calm your skin down.

Not sure you are aware of this or not but over the last twenty years or so all the top Americans shows on tv in Ireland were and are always a week or more ahead of the UK.
