"Polyamorous is a posh word for immorality"

It does seem to be a common trend these days to put labels on things but then we all like putting people in boxes - however, people are multifacited and complicated and defy definition. They may have a tendency towards a particular lifestyle but that doesn't make them just that.

I do feel like Jade just read it in a book and thought it sounded interesting, but then I think that about most of what she says. But if she considers herself polyamerous thats her choice.

Joels opinion doesnt surprise me (as Jade herself says "its just an opinion") as it is held by many people as proved by this thread but sexuality is never cut and dried and much like people, tends to be more complicated - so contradictions will occur.

As for morality: morality is fluid and personal - it constantly changes as time passes and attitudes change - it was considered immoral (and illegal) to be gay in this country not that long ago and insanely still is in some! BDSM was considered as perverted and sick (utter nonsense!) but the best selling book of recent years was the story of such a relationship.

Attitudes change with knowledge and understanding.

Ignorance causes intolerance and judgement and I think that is Joel's only crime - he doesnt know about it, doesnt understand it (from what I saw Jades explanation wasnt great) so applied his own uneducated moral boundaries to it as many people do.

We all speak from a position of ignorance at times - the trick is to learn when we are wrong and change.

Acoording to youperhaps, but not eveyone sees it that way so it's not a statement of fact.
If consenting adults find it acceptable and within the bounds of their own moral code, let them at it.
