Why did Rylan just say that Eileen was nominated again because of her age
Artemis1

Rylan on bbots said he was angry because Eileen was nominated for the 2nd week because of her age.

Unless I am watching a different show the housemates gave reasons that had nothing to do with age when nominating her.

Am I wrong?

She's his favourite and he's trying to drum up support for her.

Sarah nominated her because of the age thing.

You're right, i think Sarah used the age excuse but the others mentioned other reasons.

Sarah did.

A few of them said she was touchy about her age.

Its a valid reason to nom someone, she could in turn nominate any of them saying they were younger and she couldnt connect with them as a result. Its normal, it happens in life.

Just because she feels she is able to intergrate with younger people, it doesnt follow they return the feeling. In fact very often its weird. We have all probably had an instance of an older person than ourselves trying to be "cool" with us and it creeps you out.

To be fair she should act her bleedin age, am nearing 40 and wouldnt go knocking about with complete strangers 20 years younger than me and expect them to like it. We dont have the same frame of references or outlooks on life, it creates a weird conflict as a result.

In fact, if she was acting more her age and not trying to be a teenager they might have a bit more time and respect for her, as it is she paints a target on herself and shouts shoot me.

For her overreaction to Kieran mentioning THE AGE THING.

After pointing out that Eileen is 20 years older than the rest of them...why did she feel the need to say that?.

Shes age obsessed, in fact most of those shallow tools in there seem to think anyone over the age of 40 isn't worth a place in that house.

It's them that keeps mentioning her age, not her.

Any normal person would get touchy if their age was always used as a stick to beat them with.

Nominating someone for their age is no different to nominating someone for anything else outside their control.

Anything that smacks of 'otherness' is just sheer bigotry.

Its not wrong. Thats what is happening.

Its a simple group dynamic, they are all looking for any kind of reason to get rid of someone. Anyone who doesnt conform to the overall group definition of whats normal and acceptable will be a target. She, by definition of her age and her behavior marks her out as different, ergo a target. Jade is in a similar position, for other reasons, but its the being different and standing out in some way that does it.

You can debate the morals of it all you like, it might be unfair, but its happening.

I happen to think its fair, given its a game and you have to nominate people for something. Also because if I was in there I'd be nominating people because I didnt like the way they breathe.

Sarah related it to her age, even if it was through Kieran. There is clearly issues with her age in the house even if it's just sleep related, however they don't criticise the twins for going to sleep at the same time as Eileen and wanting some quiet.

Most of them want her out because of her age.....I hope she stays no one should give this as a reason for noms....what next.....I'm nominating him/her because they are too fat because they are ginger ....bloody ridiculous

Funny thing is that Rylan appears to be supporting her because of her age, he's oblivious to the irony. It would be nice if he picked on another of her qualities to talk about.

Would they nominate Jack for being fat? No of course not, but he's the only podgy one there. Maybe they feel they can't relate to him because of his size?

Would they nominate Harriet for being more common than them? No of course not, but maybe they feel like they can't relate to her because of the way she speaks.

Surely Eileen is allowed the same respect as Jack and Harriet.

Can't someone say something without feeling the need to say it, and without being obsessed?

Bafar is SO not wrong. I agree with her/him. Eileen is obsessed with her own age..a quick look at the mess she has made of her face would tell you that.
