I don't see you as having a short fuse niwdeness (and I know you don't care), what I would say is that everyone's attention span seems to be getting shorter and shorter and when they hear bad language and anger they won't listen for long. All back to education I guess?

No, have faith in my generation. I'm 23 years old.

I don't think Harriet has been made to feel worthless by her family or people around her and I don't think she is embarrassed by her class outside of the house and I can guarantee she'll be practically revelling in it once she's out, playing very much on the 'workin' class gal' label.

Probably because she thinks that's all she is worthy of.

Maybe it's just Harriet.

Jack and Chloe are just as working class and nobody has the same problem with them.

Because they are wallpaper.

What is the bigger picture you're trying to express?

I don't feel sorry for Harriet because of her working class background. I bet the largest majority of people using this forum come from a similar working class background. But its what you choose to do with the tools available to you in life that matters. If you want to build a better life for yourself, you've got to motivate yourself to do so.

Harriet seems to have a chip on her shoulder about not having made that choice. She seems bitter that all these opportunities havent knocked on her door. Perhaps when she leaves this experience she'll realise that she can still open up her horizons and retrain for something that would make her happier in life. Time she did something about it instead of taking her anger out on those who made the effort to educate themselves.

I agree with you, you should feel empowered.

What is that to do with anything it's still nothing to do with her class.

Where I grew up was so common Harriet would be classed as a toff they swore shouted and acted more common than she ever could we weren't just working class we had to work up to that we were and still are lower class.

Harriet brings everything on herself.

Where you grow up is not the same as the Big Brother house. It isn't a pressure cooker, there are places to go, people to speak to.

Yet Chloe and Jack somehow seem to be managing.

But your saying the problem people have with her is her class maybe it's her gob.

I've seen a million Harriet's in my life and they are all the same.

She could change if she wanted to but is to lazy and thinks the world owes her a favour

I agree, she shouldn't be bitter about it. However, this is something that develops over time and with the right nourishment and education.

I remember Jade Goody have a long one to one conversation with Tim(?) who had been privately educated. She listened to him very attentively and told him that if she ever had children she would want them to educated privately. When she had children she did have them educated privately. Jade learned a lot in Big Brother and saw the world in a different way and it made a lasting impression on her.

But there's nothing wrong with being working class. There's nothing wrong with working in a cafe or being a cleaner or working in Macdonalds or in a pub or any such place. I think the issue really stands with those who think there is something wrong with being working class.

I agree with you completely, all of these jobs need to be done.

The problem I have is people making them feel as though they are not important when they are. It's more about the disgusting language that is used to describe them.

I'm just one person with an opinion.

Unlike those people at least I have self reflection. Everyone has bias because of their upbringing and situation.

No one has suggested that there is anything wrong with working. No one has said anything derogatory about people working or the work that they do.
