I know you like him but without this storyline he'd be altogether non existent. Doesn't seem to be much about him at all ... and nothing going on upstairs.
It always seems to be those most devoid of any personality that go down this fauxmance route.

He don't like her beyond finding her visually appealing. She has no personality whatsoever so after her got a look he went off her.

Danny gives her the spiel that "she looked fit when she walked down the stairs", and Sarah says this is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about her and is smitten.
He says this old flannel to at least 4 girls every weekend in the local Dog & Slapper when he is out on the pull with his boys.

I think he found her attractive at first but now he's got to know her, she's not his type girlfriend-wise. Simple as that and he said as much. It's obviously not all about looks. Plus a lot of blokes can be put off if there's not much of a chase and the woman comes off as a bit needy or blatant, which Sarah is doing with him.

He should lay off on all the touchy feely stuff though, cos it's giving her mixed signals. Although tbf, she's kind of backed him into a corner on that front by saying she wants them to be closer, so short of him saying "Sarah, I don't fancy you", he's in a lose/lose with her....if he backs off he gets hounded, if he doesn't he's giving her the wrong ideas.
